Bad start today down in Venice, LA

Looks like they missed the turn to Venice Marina and hit the breaks too hard. Brand new Invincible?

Tomfootloose 01-26-2019 05:36 AM

Vantaredoc 01-26-2019 05:36 AM

I was having a discussion just yesterday with a buddy that never uses transom straps on their 31 Cape Horn unless they are going to the Keys because he said "it's so heavy it aint moving"! I told him he's full of crap! I have to show him this!

edit: I k ow we are all going to point out all the things owner did wrong. But just think about how physically ill you would be I would be throwing up on my hands and knees

burningdaylight 01-26-2019 05:38 AM

Wow. I hope the only thing that was hurt was someone's pride.

bsh102 01-26-2019 05:51 AM

That is not a good morning, at all. Yeah I think I would be a little nauseated that I am that stupid to not strap down a $700k boat.

coastboater 01-26-2019 05:54 AM

You can see the ABS on the truck was working hard from the skid marks. When he gets home he can get a closer look at the other skid marks....

Greene Machine 01-26-2019 05:55 AM

Really unfortunate. Hopefully minor damage.

tripleplay1 01-26-2019 06:01 AM

looks like the skids on the bunks are starboard which makes it even slicker.

fbsaltfly 01-26-2019 06:01 AM

did he try to tow that boat with a f150?

i think those are the rumble strips.
But it made a good setup for the joke lol

says a lot about the stopping power of the new fords

Marlin308 01-26-2019 06:07 AM

That makes me nauseated.

Besides overal length considerations for stalls I don’t understand why these trailers aren’t goosenecks. The new 450s can haul 21k off the bumper but why?

Brett

homeby51 01-26-2019 06:11 AM

I tie my boat down all the time but I wonder if that would have mattered? That's a lot of force to stop.

R Days 01-26-2019 06:14 AM

That never would have happened if they would have been using a Rav 4 to tow it.

Goosenecks are awesome for the long haul but suck really bad with a long DRW short turning radius truck at tight boat ramps..IMHO

elimnatr086 01-26-2019 06:15 AM

Everyone likes to make comments about the straps- but I would like to know did some other unaware driver cut him off to where he had to slam on the brakes?
