Something is lacking here. In my 45 years of boat ownership I've never seen a 60 day old SS scupper rust like that. Jupiter uses gemlux fittings. I've always found them top notch.

I think I remember someone saying that here is a lot of stray current at the marina where this boat was in the water for a number of days.

You would think the scuppers would be above the water line on a new $750.000 sled at rest.

Jupiter 43 Hull Failing with 50 Hours

There was nothing obscene or against the rules to make the mod shut down this thread, besides circling the wagons. So it does make you wonder what’s going on behind the scenes?

The thread was put out its misery since it just degenerated into random arguments. Google "jupiter 43" and see how far down the page you need to go to find it - not far. It's certainly not buried by having been closed.

Ah, but isn't random arguments the purpose of a Forum that no one is forced to read, so long as they are not abusive?

Don't fret, another chitstorm should be brewing shortly.

About time for another Scout, Contender Warranty or______________ to make the THT headlines. What about the crappy trailer that new Inv. kat was on................

Not enough bling on this one: Sea Recovery Remote Display Failures

Obviously I'm not the mod, but when a boating discussion starts turning into class warfare crap and attacks on an owner for having an expensive asset, and responses to same, it's not benefiting anyone and probably headed for the bilge.

No, the Jupiter 43 legal case is just getting started. And the buyer is not shy! He previously said he was going to be at the Miami boat show showing pics of his damaged boat.

A lot of message boards have threads that degenerate into nothing. No need to shut them down, they usually take care of themselves by eventually becoming boring and fall off the front page. (no new news and people get bored)

But the Jupiter thread was enlightening and entertaining. Those complaining about the thread didn't have to read it.

THT has had some great threads like Luhrs 41, Team Bloodstream, THE Viking. Fun to read, educational, occasionally stupid, but all were boating related.

What exactly was "censored"? Do you have anything substantial or relevant regarding the Jupiter 43'? OR are you here just stirring the pot? Did the transom on your Sailpish fall apart? LOL If so please start up a new thread.

Refresher course:

Here are the MOST OFTEN VIOLATED rules:

1. No Politics outside of the Bilge . . . only exception is non-partisan posts when dealing with legislation about boating, including fishing or trailering etc.

2. No Insults. . . . no exceptions . . . don't try to get funny with innuendos or different spelling.

3. No Religion outside of the Bilge . . . many threads start out innocently but they almost always end up with insults and people being disrespectful of other people's religions and personal beliefs

4. No Explicit Sexual Topics or photos outside of Sand Bar . . . all of the other forums are to be treated as 'family content only'

5. No inflammatory, irrelevant, or off-topic posts with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting or deflecting on-topic discussion... outside of the Bilge. Note: This is referred to (ironically) as "Trolling" in Internet slang. The Jupiter thread devolved into one of class warfare, the have's vs the have nots.

6. No public griping about moderation or disciplinary action. If you have an issue with how the forums are being run, address it in a civil manner to a moderator or administrator via PM. Do not post your complaint to the forums; this is considered mod bashing, and will earn an infraction and a warning. If another such infraction is observed, it will earn a member a permanent ban from the forum in which the violations are occurring. Continued bashing will result in a permanent ban from THT. This is for those that demoan about "censorship".
