Trim gauge stopped working after engine swap

Default Trim gauge stopped working after engine swap

Trim Gauge stopped working when I swapped out 05 merc115 4 stroke for 2011 250 optimax 2 stroke,i had to install a adapter harness so optimax can connect to boat harness, boat is 32 ft pontoon 2005 suntracker,any ideas ?

Did the Optimax come from a boat with SmartCraft gauges? If so, it has a digital trim sender installed and it won’t communicate with analog gauges.

Previous owner is unknown so its possible this is the case,any fix for this?

Find a good opti dealer or mechanic and talk to them. They an tell you what to look for and also what options you may have.

Replace the digital sender with the factory analog sender.

Chances are they’d have an old take-off analog sender if that is the issue.
