I toyed with a Glasstream 242CCX for a short while. I put a 300XS on it and it ran right at 60 MPH. I also played around with a Glacier Bay 260 catamaran. Put twin 300XSs on it and got up to 64MPH.....I cant say that the boat was terribly happy going this fast, but I had fun.

Majek Xtreme and SCB Stingray are both popular zoomie boats in Texas. I haven't been on a Stingray but two friend's have Xtremes and they will do over 70 with the bubble shaped speed console.

If you want to stay "legal" you'll have to stick with a 225 and that'll put you right at 60 with the right prop. Another positive is they don't seem too sensitive to weight. It'll run 60 loaded or not but it's not a lightweight hull that'll "air out".

They'll handle up to a 350 and it'll get them up to about 75 but from what i've read going big on this hull doesn't net the speed you'd expect but the boat will handle it no problem.

They'll get shallow, handle offshore runs, look great, and will run with bay boats.. What's not to like?

People asking why you'd want a go fast center console don't know how much fun it can be to go fast... It doesn't mean irresponsibly and cruising at 45 is really nice too.

Grown men get butthurt when they get passed in almost any situation.. I have a trawler and cruise my 16' CC @ 25 so i'm used to it lol.

Here's one with a 350

Tell that to Evan with his tuned 400R running over 90 riding nothing but the drain plug! A 300 will get you 70+ without much work, not too many 21’ fishing boats that can claim those kind of numbers. Hell even a 250 with some seat time and setup will hit 70.

Get you a Simmons Custom Boats Recon with a 300. 24' boat that will run in the high 70s all day long. Its more of a flats boat not sure what area you are running it in.

Will also run in about 10" of water

Looked at a lot of paramonts but bought a new 24’ Spectre from Jay Palini. A bit of a knock off from a super boat, pad bottom and a bit to handle at speed. Chipped Verado at 330hp runs low 60,s with a t top. Feels pretty stupid a wot. I like the 45 mph cruise at 3 plus mpg.

+1

I run a Majek Xtreme, 22’ with a 250 sho, propped for hole shot and the boat is setup more for family fishing than tourney speed, and I still am running at 61 mph with 3 dudes and a full tank of gas. Propped for speed, bubble console, trolling motor moved to the back, and batteries moved to the back, and your running 71+ easy. Plus the boat floats in 11”. Bump up to the 25’ version and a 300 for more room and an ability to handle for tougher conditions better.

Great boats.

21 paramount are nice fast hulls. If you want the Miami go fast look. Few flats and bay boats will do 60-80mph if you want to consider those hulls. Nice problem to have, Best of luck.

Another vote for the paramount. Perfect tiki hopper boat. A Properly set up paramount should be running a 25" shaft so you will have to know what your doing in shallow water. If you come off plane, you can get in trouble. Also a T top will cost you about 5-7 mph, most paramounts have Bimini tops

i don’t think it’s much of a superboat knock off to me. Superboats are like 7’ beam, these are 8’3” beam. Big difference.

He never said 60mph in 2-3' of water. I think you knew that though.

Yeah but hardly make it across the bay much less offshore. Cool boat though but you're in the wrong thread.

Seems like she wouldn't run that much faster with that 200 by hull design.. What's she running?

Cool do you have a link? 90 mph would be the fastest i've seen.
Found some mention of "Evan"
Very Nice proping a boat is a very long process! There is so many different props. I heard that Evan was at 88mph with his 400R with a custom lower unit. Again i know for sure his console has been moved aft and he has reduced some weight.
I searched around at different projects and found a couple where guys with 300's/350's were disappointed in performance over a 250 but figured it was a setup issue.

Looking further I found some impressive numbers but those were after doing work to the bottom of the boat(removing the hook or the wedge). Stock boats are hard to "air out".

Countless threads/builds where guys expect 80 + and hit that 75mph barrier(until they remove the hook from the bottom).
This is pretty typical(I know its a 300x but should give you an idea).
paramount 21

350 Verado only hit 67mph
21 Paramount restoration/transformation (350 Verado Installed)

Slapping a 350 or 400r engine on with the right prop won't get you 90mph. 70-75 no problem but a 300 will get you there too. Going over that will require mods to the bottom or a good bracket.

For the OP's needs a paramount is perfect. There are dozens of paramounts running around south Florida doing exactly what he wants to accomplish.

Evan is a paramount owner in the keys, I believe he has had bottom work done, weight removed, transom reinforced, and had his 400r tuned. There is a paramount owners facebook page that he post videos to periodically.

Paramounts are great, I’ve had 4. I think Even posted on the Facebook group 94. There are some vids also. My last one before it burnt down ran low 60’s with ttop and 4.2 Yamaha 250.

I would have done anyother one but I wanted more seating and beam which is why I would up with the new one. 23 Action was going to be second choice for me. I don’t really care about top speed as much as high speed cruise. I love the action is a three piece with a bit more beam and just as if not quicker with the same power. Hard to find tho.

Actually I thought he WAS looking to do 60 in 2-3 feet of water (my bad). ....... and I suspect the first two to respond to this thread thought the same thing.

If you want more space and fish-ability than a paramount 21 pick up a used Rambo 27 and hang a Verado 350 or 400r on it.
