Default SureShade or BocaShade??

Need to come up with a shade solution for the forward section of my Pursuit Center Console.
I am trying to stay away from deck mounted vertical struts and tightening straps, plus the hassle of digging out the shade and messing with an install in 20kts of wind.
So I have narrowed my search down to two brands that mount permanently to the T Top and retract when not in use.
Sure Shade SureShade - Extending the Experience - Telescoping Boat Shades and BocaShade. https://www.bocashade.com/
My dilemma is that the price difference for a very similar shade solution is almost $3000. The 6' X 9' retractable shade ready to install from SureShade is $4200. plus shipping (installation is extra) where as the similar BocaShade 6' X 7' $1499 shipping included (installation is extra)
I am sure just by looking closely at the pics on their websites that the Sure Shade is slicker and is an overall higher quality solution. But shade is shade and my boat is ten years old, I am not certain I need to spend the extra dollars to sit in the shade.
If you have had experience with either solutions, I would be very interested in what you think or if there is another similar solution I have missed, I am all ears.
Thank you for your help and have a great New Year.

Why don't you want the vertical poles and tension straps? Just curious as to reason? I have a shade set on my World Cat with the poles and tension straps that we have found to be very easy and useful. Also allows us to use it over the bow or the stern depending on what we are doing. It is also durable and stable enough that we can run with it up to about 30 MPH easily without any issues.

BocaShade here, supplying information to this thread.
We use clear anodized solid aluminum for the brackets and for the extruded tubing. All 316 SS (marine industry standard) fasteners. Canvas is Sunbrella Marine. We have a simpler design over our competitor which allows us to be able to run our BocaShade at 50 MPH (5ft and 6ft models mounted in the stern) We have a great reputation in the industry. Check out our 5-star reviews on Google. We are based in Boca Raton, Florida. If you want to come on by, I would be happy to show you our product in person, just PM me. The shades were designed by our owner John, he is a product engineer with over 20 years experience and an avid fisherman. I urge you to check us out, we are a lot of shade for the money.

Check out this pic of a pursuit with BocaShade Installed.

I will say this about adjustable poles and straps like ttopcovers builds. The are very easy and depending on the time of day a flat shade may give you 0 shade. We can adjust the poles or lower one side of the cover on ours to adjust to the suns position and works great. Those shades all look good but other than 12-2pm your probably not getting much shade from it

My boat came with a SureShade from the manufacturer, but honestly they both look identical. Interesting how both have patents on the same apparent product and design.

The BocaShades that I have seen installed have been nothing less than a stellar, functional piece of equipment. With that said, an adjustable hinged joint about 2/3 rds of the way to full extraction would be awesome for adjusting the shade over the cockpit!!!! I am not a spokesman for, nor do I work for BocaShade, or even own a BocaShade, but if they figure out how to make their shade adjustable you can bet I'll one of the first ones in line for one in the 72" wide by 84" long variety. There is not much escaping the rising or setting sun, just have to be good at positioning the ones that bitch the most on the shady sides of things..... I am always stuck at the helm under the hard top, so these are white people problems to me!!!!

Can I see a picture of the guy who forgot to retrack the front one and was showing off with a full throttle launch?

We bought a BocaShade this winter. I looked at ShureShade but it was a little more then our budget. the people at BocaShade were very helpful on the phone while I completed the measuring process. It arrived in about two weeks, and I installed it myself. It took a couple of hours and was simple to install. It looks good and works smoothly.

That’s a joke , right? While $4k for something that probably has a material and installation cost of
less than $1k seems excessive there is no way that would ever last. Put that on your patio near the ocean for 6 months and it’s toast.

Hi JLavine,
Thanks for sharing your experience in this thread. I remember your purchase clearly around the beginning of this year. And thanks again for sending the pictures. Your install turned out great.

Any issues / conflicts to be concerned about when deploying outriggers?

I am NOT in the market for this product. But I'll say THANK YOU to jcao111 for weighing in with commentary, pics and feedback. This is the BEST part of THT and what I look for whenever possible: input from manufacturers/vendors and industry experts.
