He defined what "excellent customer service" really means. He helped me out some years ago with some custom tabs and they worked out great. I recall when he got really sick and how serious that was and I was thankful he made it through. I'll always remember how quickly and effectively he helped a lot of people and never got involved in the arguments on this forum. His efforts will be rewarded for eternity and I hope you find comfort in how he helped so many people. Thanks for letting us know, God Bless.

So sorry to hear of you lose. I had to go back to chuckle at PM with Tom where we compared stories of errant tab springs flying great distances

I am very sorry for your loss, and can only imagine your father was as attentive at home as he was to us. I feel genuine sorrow for his passing though I never met him or actually heard his voice.
That is quite an impact to have in a world where personal connection is diminishing. I understand nothing we say can take away the sorrow you are feeling from his passing, but understand he is remembered and thought of fondly by many of us on several boating communities online, in addition to this one. Tabman Tom was a notable and memorable man - I hope you are proud of the impact he had on us.

The Ship
by Charles Brent

I am standing on the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze
and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength and I stand and watch her
until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud
just where the sea and sky come down to mingle
with each other.
Then someone at my side says: 'There! She's gone.'
Gone where? Gone from my sight that is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she
was when she left my side,
and just as able to bear her load of living
freight to the place of destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her;
and just at the moment when someone at my side says:
'There! She's gone,'
there are others watching her coming,
and voices ready to take up the glad shout
'There she comes!'

This has always helped me in times of grief. God bless Tom.

So sorry for your family and their loss. What an asset to the boating community, your father was one of the best vendors on this site and always treated people the way you should!

Condolences and prayers for you and your family. Its always makes me take a step back when a forum member I met or knew strictly from a forum passes. The lives we live take us down all sorts of roads and give us opportunities to interact with all types of people. These interactions and how we treat/value others is such a critical part of life. As you are finding out now, your Dad did this well on this forum. He always went above and beyond, as it was clear it wasn't just a job he was doing but he saw the importance of relationships with others. He was always willing to help and offer great advice. Know his presence will be missed here.

So sorry for your loss. Ditto what many have said. Tom was quick to help anyone. I don’t recall him ever getting into an argument on here. That’s highly unusual. Utmost professional who rewrote the standard for customer service. Fair winds and following seas Tom.
