Default Croswait 21

Has anyone ever heard of the Croswait 21? Carolina style/ west coast bay boat style with a 9.5’ beam and a tunnel. Seems like an awful wide beam compared to the length.

I have seen the Silver one, it’s pretty awesome . These rigs are designed to handle the Sounds of Eastern NC where it can get really skinny and rough , especially in the winter. Once you’ve crossed the sound in a Carolina Skiff and had to pick your teeth off the deck, you appreciate this design. Ricky Scarbough was making something similar and he calls them Duck Yachts. Pretty slick.

That pic is one of the Duck Yachts he had at the VB Boat show a few winters ago. Southern Cross also makes something similar

I saw the Florida Sportsman show that featured this boat. I could see water on the deck with two men standing at the transom. Makes me wonder if it’s self bailing and the deck is not high enough above the water line. I also don’t like the fact that a small boat requires a permit to trailer because of the beam over 8’6”

I noticed that too. That would piss me off. It is a very sexy looking boat, though..

yeah I was scouring the webs for more info on these and was disappointed to see that much water in the cockpit. Big turnoff for an otherwise gorgeous looking boat.
