I don't get the point of cats with cabins. The individual hulls are so narrow! I did see a rendering in another thread and it does look very nice tho!

I think people forget freeman resigned the hull to solve issues these big cats have. Worldcat and others are just stretching the old molds. I see no reason to purchase this if I want a cat.

Freeman is the innovator that started the big cat craze, but I don't know that it's a fair statement that you've made about this World Cat model. I do know that when the 280CC-X came out, it was marketed as a brand new hull computer designed from the ground up. I don't see any details on FB or the website that says anything at all about this hull, so I assume you are making an assumption.

Cats are perfect for the dual console platform.

Looks like they have it designed for twin 425 yama hammers. 850 is max horse.

I still love my CC but I can see the appeal for an express model cat.

So you're assuming that they stretched the NEW mold, specifically re-designed from the ground up to address the emerging competition in the cat space? Looks like the 280CC-X is pretty well reviewed.

World cat needs to get back to the hardcore basics of fishing. They need to make a open CC fishing boat. Made for fishing. No forward seating. All their newer boat are geared for family cruising. Always been a fan of their older boats.

They are simply following the market. There are more than enough hardcore fishing boats available in the cat market.

I don’t think they can power two AC units and a seakeeper 3 with a 9 kw generator??
if you are sleeping in the port side and need to take a leak, you need to go back on deck and down into port side. How convenient. This Hull is new following same design as 280. They turn into corners instead of outside of corner like the 33. No deadrise in Hull though. Symmetrical hulls. Heavy.

I think I would prefer to go up on deck to use the head, than sleep right next to it like in all the big CCs with a center berth... although I'm definitely curious what the actual interior room feels like on a layout like this.

Some of the smaller seakeepers are DC - but 20k btu of AC should run off ~4000w of generator power so I don't think it would be an issue?

I was a little confused, Sea keeper in a cat. That seems like a lot of stress and expectation in beam to seas. Anybody have experience with sea keepers and cats care to comment.
as far a fishing vs other uses. To me each their own. But you would think that if you design a new hull, you would maximize it by trying to offer a few models on that hull. I.E. CC, DC, EC

OK folks, a few responses to the comments so far. . .
Really pleased at all the positive responses.

- This is an all new design from a clean sheet. It does share some styling cues from that 280-X Series, but that is all.

- The first evolution of the 400-X Series is a Dual Console because that is where the market demand lies. The series will evolve with demand.

- Large Cat hulls allow for a lot of usable space in the cabin and head. With a 12'8" beam there is a lot of full depth space to utilize in each side.
I'm 6'2" and weigh a little over 220, and have functioned as the "fit test dummy" as the spaces were fine tuned. I think everyone will be pleased with the space and comfort they see at its debut.

- More to come

Looks promising.

I also think the cat market could use some Express/ Open models.
