I ordered mine and paid less than the online price.

Anybody here have a 242/241 or similar with the windlass and a trolling motor? Just want to make sure there is no conflict between the two. I would like the trolling motor to lay along the gunwale out of the way of the forward seating. Thanks.

I went to the dealer today to check out the Sportsman open 242 and 232. I test rode the 242 with a 250SHO. It seemed to run well with minimal bow rise and didn't "walk" when cornering. I wasn't able to assess the ride because it was flat calm. The dealer also did not have a great solution of placing trolling motor batteries. Has anyone else put a trolling motor on their 242? How did it work? I am considering the Ultera 36V 112lb. Their suggestion was to place the batteries in the stern on the bucket tray just above the bilge pump but I am concerned about the extra weight. I have a wife and 2 girls (6 and 4). The 242 seemed to have better head access than the 232. I would love the the 267masters OE but may be a bit if a stretch and not sure how the family would like that. Any input is greatly appreciated.
P.S. using it in middle chesapeake bay 95% of the time with a mix of fishing LTJ, Live line, and family beach

Love my 2020 247! Ordered new in October 2019 from an awesome dealer. Couldn’t be happier with the whole process. So glad we got it before all the craziness set in. Got the upgraded JL Audio package and it jams! Totally worth it IMO! Got the bow cushions and back rest cause the wife wanted it but don’t use them that much and they kinda get in the way. Love the Minn Kota with spot lock. Almost wish I would have got the auto deploy, please respond with any pros and cons for those. Got the jack plate and 300 Yami. Max speed I’ve seen is 53 at 6000 rpm but that was a lite chop wind just right and trimmed way up, loaded with 5 batteries 1/2 tank fuel 2 people and very lite gear. Can hit 45/46 mph loaded with 7 people coolers beach bags full gas tank full wash tank with no problem every time.
Love bottom fishing around Carrabelle/Dog Island Fla. and scalloping in Crystal River Fla.

Talking New 212

Just received my 212 earlier this week. Sportsman did a really nice job. Can't wait for weather to improve so I can really enjoy it.

Considering a 212 but would like to add a trolling motor. Has anyone else installed one? Can you share some pictures? Brand/size? Where did you put the batteries?

Default Sportsman 2018 232

I’ve just bought new to me 2018 Sportsman Platinum 232 w/250 Yamaha trolling motor and the work. Haven’t had chance to stretch it out yet but yes they are hard to find used. I’m in Tallahassee area and finally found mine in St Augustine. Looked all over Fla and up east coast for one and every time I found one it was sale pending. I’ll let you guys know more when Snapper and grouper open up. Cheers.

Couple pics of my buddy’s 2014 231 I borrowed for the keys. I think he’s considering selling it soon...

After looking at several manufacturers, I ordered the Sportsman Masters 207 in late December. I'm supposed to take delivery sometime in May, The wait is killing me. I was told that Sportsman is pumping out the larger models (30', 32', 35') and have pushed back the smaller models such as mine, but I'm just being as patient as I can be. It's great that this group exists and I will post pictures once I take delivery.

my 242 was bumped from mar to apr. My dealer says he has a 30 something that was bumped from May to Aug due to component supply issues. But we have to get 1.9 trillion more pumped into this terrible economy. 😉
