Drag increase exponentially the faster you go, 70 mph on the highway is a lot more than 45-50 on the water. Good to see the love for sportsman as planning on joining the Sportsman owners club soon.

most likely they wouldn’t fly off if buttoned but if your driving 65+ it’s not the same as driving the boat with them on. I would store them in the center console if I trailered my boat. Why risk it unless you have no other choice.

They are not the factory ones. Local shop did it. They came with a bag to keep them in. So rolled up in the bag. I keep at home during the summer.

I have the windshield closeout or what it is called that covers the opening above the windshield. I might start keeping that in all summer. I got caught in rain a few times. The water runs down the underside of the ttop and then comes down on you. I swear you get more wet than if you didn't have a ttop at all.

New 2019 SPORTSMAN MASTERS 227--PLATINUM PACKAGE / YAMAHA 200HP
STORM CLOUD HULL AND BOTTOM / GRAY INTERIOR
Just got it last week from a dealer in S.C.
Plan on adding a MINN KOTA ULTERRA.
Anybody have any thoughts on whether I need the 36volt instead of the 24volt?

If you were sitting on the bench seat in the rear and the waves would come up by the dive door the water would come in between the opening and be redirected right into your face. Was not that rough to be beat up and soaked in a 28’ boat. Captain or Design or a little of both ?
prob more that the captain needs to get more familiar with the boat. i have been in similar seas with my 252 and a few times got the back seat people wet but a couple changes and it was fine. it was mostly do to the high wind blowing it back over the sides.

It was definitely some Capt error. The dive door was the main issue of getting wet sitting on the bench seat. When a wave got high up on the door the water would squeeze through the opening and hit you dead in the face every time. It was quite annoying. The winds were less than 10 mph. Like I said, I liked the boat and the lay out of the boat. The ride just concerned me. I am looking to get into an offshore boat and this one seemed to be a good value.

that doesn't sound right. i'm pretty sure there is a lip and rubber to keep water from coming in.

Just picked up this 2013 211 for a steal. Rack stored it's entire life. 290 hours. Only got to run it once this fall before winterizing. Can't wait for spring!

I'm looking at possibly buying a new 23-24 ft Open Sportsmans soon. The Atlanta Boat show is less than a month away so I can look at both the Cobia and Sportsman together. Questions:. Any option you wish you would have got with your purchase? Are the deals at the boat show worth waiting?

I am interested in getting the 23 or 24 open as well. I really would prefer the 23 with the full glass console like the 24 has. Hoping I might be able to work with their top builder or a customizer to get that option without having to move up to the 24. Coming from a cuddy cabin, I hate the little cheap plastic shield on the small consoles. I haven’t taken either for a sea trial yet so maybe the 24 is the way to go anyway but I like the shallower draft of the 23 for inshore waters I will be cruising and fishing often. Please keep us posted on your progress and decision.

Default 282 Owners.

Any owners out there with a 282. Looking for a opinion on a couple things. Specifically owners with the twin 200's. Also has anyone had any issues with the front bow table? Thanks Guys!
