Default Trolling Motor Mount Question

Probably a stupid question here.
I see trolling motors mostly mounted on the port side of boats like mine is.
Due to the high bow on the Pangas and the steering wheel on the left side of the console, I have a hard time seeing over the trolling motor.
I was thinking of moving it to the starboard side.
Are there any obvious issues that I'm not thinking of?

To answer your question, no there are no issues. You can mount on either side. I have always mounted on the starboard side. Just personal preference.

I preferred the starboard side too because I am right handed and the Minn Kota is rather heavy to deploy. I felt I could do it right handed easier than left.

Just a note about trolling motors... On the third time I used mine, the prop fell off. I didn't hit anything submerged or weed/kelp so I googled, "Why..." and read that it often happens. I'll be using Loctite and Nylock nut when the replacement arrives next week.
