Default Grady Hardtop?

I just got a '93 Grady White Adventure 208 and am looking to put on a hardtop (and trim tabs). I'm hoping I can get a used one (on Cape Cod). Where do I find one? Will a top from a '93 Gulfstream fit my 208? I don't see used tops for sale anywhere so I thought of buying a parts boat for the top and scavenging some other goodies from it too (seats, radar, trim tabs, etc). Is this a fools errand or a good idea?

That may be hard to find. You could always buy a new one from GW.

I would love to buy a new one from GW but It'll probably cost me more than I paid for the boat. ($10G with a 2012 tandem Load Rite bunk trailer.) I was thinking of a "Tower in a Box" from Atlantic Towers they're about $2900...?

I had a custom hard top built for my Mako a couple years back, it was around 6k and is a perfect fit. Really changed the boat. Finding a used one may be possible, but you really have to take one off the same hull or there will need to be a good deal of cutting/welding needed to get it to fit your boat. Depending on who does the work, it could cost nearly as much as a new top. Seems that it is always more difficult to undo someone elses work and adapt it than it is to simply build new.

FWIW - I had Titone metal works in RI do the work and would recommend him in a minute.

I have the same exact boat and I've been looking for the same exact thing. Havent found one yet after 10 yrs. LOL
And NO, the top from your Gulfstream isn't gonna work.
As far as the Atlantic Tower, I would stay away. The fit is too generic and takes away from the already small walkaround. It bolts to the boat in all the wrong places unlike one that is made specifically for the GW 208.

EDIT - Well apparently the AT has been redesigned for the 208 - It appears it now mounts to where a factory one would.
Not to crazy about the mechanical connection tho. I prefer a welded elbow where it attaches to the boat

Thank you for all the input. Each time I see the authentic hardtops I feel like canceling Christmas for everyone and just getting that for myself. Then I think of going with Fish-On radar arch and visor - a variation on the hardtop for less than half the money . However if I do that then I don’t think I can add curtains. Now I know I am NOT going to try to go used (unless I find the exact replacement).
