Default Powerpole Problems

so I was having some issues with my powepole, pump was leaking and then stopped working completely, power pole asked me to send them the pump and the cylinder. I had it back in three days, they rebuilt the pump and sent me a brand new cylinder!

20 minutes later I have a powerpole working as good as new and better in fact than when I bought the boat!

Best customer service in the industry! I will never even consider a talon.

I know everyone knows about powerpole’s customer service and I have heard about it for years, but this was my first experience.

Great to hear their great service continues! I had a problem I caused when I first bought and mounted my own PP, and although I told them what I had done wrong they overnighted my parts the next day!

I do not have any experience with either Power Pole or Minn Kota customer service, I had a PP on a flats boat and it worked flawlessly so nevet had to deal with the company besides buying their product. But does MK Talon have issues that MK is not providing an ideal level of customer service, warranty difficulties, etc? I am just wondering because the ability to remove the Talon and the fact that it goes down to 15’ without being much bigger appeals to me over the PP, but I dont want to be fighting with a company over getting their product to consitently work the way it should. Looking for a bay boat or smaller CC to 21’ ti be used for trolling, slow trolling, etc on calm days, so was thinking a PP would always be in the way when doing so.

my experience with Minn Kota was not half as good as powerpole, it was regarding a lifetime warranty on a trolling motor shaft. It was just over 1 year old and was cracked, however I was not the original owner so I had to pay for it. FYI I am not the original owner of this powerpole either...

The talon clearly has some benefits, but it is much more complex, the powerpole literally has a pump and a cylinder, no pulleys or cables etc. I think pp is a more durable product, i have heard of issues with The talon binding, especially if you put the boat in gear with them down. I was on a friends boat with a brand new pp and he took off and got on a plane with it down. I fully expected it to be busted up when I got to the helm to retract it... but it didn’t have a scratch and worked flawlessly.

Has anyone ever even heard of a bad PowerPole customer service experience?

No, not even second hand... I still can’t believe they had the stuff back to me that quickly!

I have literally ripped a Powerpole off my transom due to negligence and they sent me another free of charge. They have my support big time.
