SO I 're-did' my combing. I just don't feel like spending another 3K in boating expenses. For year I'll probably be at around $10,000!!

Gorilla Tape or Flex Seal or plain white duct tape? I fear that is something that looks OK in a photo from a distance where you can barely see all the layer overlaps if one looks hard. , then up close it just looks like tape .
Will you post a close up now and after a couple/few months of leaning and rubbing against all those tape overlaps while fishing /landing fish?
If you didn't want the expense of having the pleated look replaced by professionals , I'd think removing the bolsters and just stapling on new flat or textured white vinyl on the existing foam and backers would look much ! better and last way longer.
I can't imagine a pro replacement would cost anywhere near $3K. Maybe a few $100 + material if you remove and install??
Is this just for another few months to get you through the season? Looks like a very nice boat otherwise so I hope "real" replacement soon is in the plan & budget.
Gotta admit there is a good humorous element to this refurb job though.
More power to you !

It's gorilla tape and holds up much better them 3M for instance. I'll try to post a picture you can zoom in on. No it's not perfect. It's a 42 year old boat after all don't look to close.
As we were applying tape one of my neighbors said "I thought you hit new combing two years ago" lol no just new tape. Then a sophisticated boater, I believe he owned Strataglass', was eyeballing my boat for 5 minutes
before he was like "Hey what the heck..."!!
If you look at the cushion in front of the rocket launcher you can see tape that's been on there since may 2017. How well it lasts depends on sun exposure. My east side gets beat up quicker then my west side.
