Default Please do not buy new suzuki outboards!

DO NOT BUY OUTBOARDS TIL FURTHER NOTICE!
I purchased a flagship Suzuki outboard motor, DF350A and the motor was shipped without propeller stop washers and after the motor has been sitting a month waiting for install at the local dealer, the mechanic discovers no stop washers were included with the brand new engine.
Suzuki customer service indicates the necessary parts to complete this simple installation are on back order and will not ship til the end of September 2018 a month later. Ive asked for a manager, and customer service will not escalate ANY calls, will not allow me to contact the new engine delivery warehouse, furthermore, cannot answer a simple question to simply locate the required part. I offered to fly out to their headquarters and pickup the part, but they indicate their office simply has a customer service telephone at their lobby front office.

PLEASE..... DO NOT BUY ANY SUZUKI OUTBOARD MOTORS UNTIL THEY IMPROVE THEIR ERRORS, POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT, AND INADEQUATE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

What exactly is a stop washer? Thrust washer? We bought 2 new zukes this time last year and had zero problems.

So, people aren't supposed to by Zukes because YOU got bad service? Really? A buddy of mine just put 2 new 300's on his ride. He could not be happier. Neither can I since I get to go fishing with him.

I got a bad room at Comfort Suites last week. Please don't stay there until they provide better rooms. Really!

Have you reached out to any of the Suzuki distributors that sponsor here on THT and see if they have your part in stock? or brownspoint Marine?

Are you talking about the stop bushings? If so why not just order new ones.

It's pretty simple 8 bolts and they're no longer on your transom...You dealer can write you a check in less than 5 minutes. Done, Problem solved.

Apparently, they are a prop stopper washer located between the hub and the 1st and 2nd prop.

THEY WERE NOT INCLUDED WITH SHIPMENT OF MY BRAND NEW DF350A MOTOR AND NOW ON A 30 DAY BACK ORDER. Customer service could not even locate the part ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD AND REFUSED TO ANSWER BASIC QUESTIONS. I CALLED THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER LOCATED IN BREA, CA AND SPOKE TO THREE SEPERATE AGENTS WITH ABSOLUTELY NO RESOLVE.

I think this translates to the aft thrust washer, the one for the rear prop so it doesnt rub the front prop.

OP, call around to whichever large Suzuki dealerships you can find. Id start with Outboard Specialties and International Marine, both of whom are sponsors here. Id bet you can find one, but maybe dont lead with, Im the guy telling the world not to buy your product...
