Default New 2019 Barker Boatwork 26 Open Build Thread

It’s crazy to think that I last posted a new boat build on THT in late 2001~ early 2002. Now as our 2019 26 Open nears completion I figured I’d post chronologic photos of the build. The hull/deck/liner went into the mold in late May and we should take delivery on or about the August 17th. As most of you are aware Barker is a semi-custom builder and to that end we designed the boat for our particular use and budget. Other than the major components everything can customized and/or adjusted to your liking. Our build is a collaboration of my 40 years of boating/fishing experience along with input from Kevin Barker and the entire team at Barker Boatworks. Living locally I was able to drop in to see the progress almost weekly. During each visit I was greeted by either Kevin, the VP, a manager or an employee who went over progress, answered questions and occasionally made suggestions several of which I incorporated into the build. So far the entire process has really been fantastic. Power is a 350 Verado and in terms of build specs/options/etc. I’ll get those details up later this weekend.

Damn that is sexy! I love the whole package, the lines, the size, the power, You are a lucky man to have a true do it all boat with the simplicity of a single engine. Cant wait to see performance reports, congrats!

Too bad you didn't choose a quality boat. Even the bilge plug is a sight to behold.

Very nice man. While you were at the shop did you see or hear of any progress made to the big cat?

Close! This color is called Stars and Stripes. It came down to two colors for us this and Empress Blue. We are extremely happy with our final choice!
