Default HPDI values?

wondering if anyone on tht can provide some input here...Iím considering a repower and am curious what my current motors are worth. They are 2001 Yamaha HPDIís. Both running fine. One has 1000 hrs, the other has 980. Iíd be selling everything of course...motors, props, gauges, rigging, etc. Iíve looked at NADA but am curious if thatís accurate, and why I could expect for the whole setup. Thanks in advance for any input.

Thatís the point of the thread...I donít really know and am hoping for some comments here. I think the nada guides are saying somewhere around $3500 each but doesnít factor in hours, props, rigging, etc.

Screw NADA. Set a price you would be comfortable selling them for and move on and haggle from there. My 2 cents.

Search through the parts forum, a few HPDIs have sold or at least been listed there recently.

I was looking at repowering mine and I recall it being about $2-4K per engine. 2001 150 HPDI Yamahas 500 hours. Never pulled the trigger as they are running fine (for now). I would talk to whomever you're going to repower with and see what they tell you. My guy offered to have them sell out of his shop. No finders/cosign fee - course he was making money on the new engines and install. I was like - awesome; they stay at his place until they sell. Even if he sells them to another client I was good with that. Just didn't want the headache of storing/finding a client/haggle/ship...I might leave some $ on the table.

thank you, this is about what I was thinking and the shop Iím planning to repower with does have a local guy who deals in used motors...who basically said ďtell me what you want for them...Ē so thatís why I posted this thread...trying to get a sense of what I should realistically be asking for. Appreciate the info.

Just sold a pair of 250 hpdi with all rigging, controls, gauges and tanks for 6k. 950 hours. Felt like I could have gotten 7k but had a willing buyer and I needed them gone.

I just sold a 2002 150 HPDI with 1433 hours for 1500 to a used outboard engine dealer. Engine has no problems and runs at 5200 RPM. Deal includes dealer removing engine and controls. New Mercury 200 being installed next week. I still have 30 gallons of Yamalube 2 stroke oil left over.

This is interesting as I have been contemplating repowering next year. Looks like there might still be some value left in my motors.
