Default My 1988 15 whaler restoration

Hey all,I bought a 1988 15’ Whaler which I have already started the process of a full restoration on. I am going to put a full flat front deck in it, center console, and most likely a new Suzuki 60. I was hoping to do an Awlgrip paint job inside and out, but I have decided against that because all of the stress cracks in the boat. Instead I will be tuff coating the inside, and most likely leaving the outside for now because the boat needs to be finished for lobster mini season, July 21. After that I will possibly awl grip the outside. The hull is solid other than one spot in the bow on the port side where there is a large crack near where the deck meets the side of the boat. I was wondering if any of you could help me out on what to do with that situation. Thanks! I am having trouble posting pictures now, but will get them up ASAP.

All the photos are in an album on my profile right now, but for some reason it will not let me upload them to the thread. You can find them on my profile as of now still trying to figure out how to post them.

Hello, sweet boat man, brings back some memories, I think the first powerboat I used was a 16 Whaler, it might have been a Dell Quay Dory (almost identical). Subd.

Looks awesome. Not to hijack your thread, but I did a major refit of a 1986 and some of the pics may help give you ideas on console height etc.

thanks! Trust me, I’ve read over your thread plenty of times, and am super jealous of how nice your boat came out. Any stress cracks with the tank in the deck?

Got the boat faired out, primed, and the first two coats of tuff coat on, and did some shopping! Simrad go7/totalscan transducer, 4 JL Audio m880s, two m650s, 800/8 amp, rgb lights, livewell pump, bilge pump, switches, and much more. Waiting on one more gallon of paint, then assembly! It’s coming together nicely.

HOLD UP! Need to let you know that Mini Season is actually the 25th and 26th of July. It has always been the last consecutive Wednesday and Thursday in July. Do not do any lobstering on the 21st as you will have this recently finished Whaler confiscated, if caught.
