tunnels;
which one of those was the one you made the mold from the uncured opposite side?
you know, the one you said that you can pull/pulled the still green resin side to form the other side mold?
I might have this wrong, but it's something like this, isn't it?

Talk about getting stories all wrong and blowing things completely out of context .
The original story was about a guy living in Tahiti that bought a storm damaged 36 foot yacht and one side was really damaged from sitting on the reef !OK ??got that ??
being completely experience and very knowledgeable and understanding composites he cut most all of the damaged part away and made a composite shell from the opposite side and before it had cured rock hard demoulded it and turned in inside out so it could be used to replace the damaged part on the opposite side !!
I WENT TO SEE THE GUY AND my wife and I HAD LUNCH TOGETHER ON THE BOAT sitting in the water along side his dock was the cleverest thing id ever seen after completely rebuilding the interior of the boat was almost impossible to see the join up or where it had been damaged !
I did a exact same thing using the same idea recently on a small power boat that had a long rip and tear along the side recently ! works a treat taking the shape off one side turning it inside out and placing and fitting onto the other side !No building molds !! the shape was perfect and the whole cut and replace took a fraction of the time everyone thought it would ! , Plus the CHINESE guys learned a brand new skill they never thought possible !

"AND THE UPDATED MULTI LAYERED UNIDIRECTIONAL LAMINATE MAKES THEN ALMOST INDESTRUTABLE !"

--- Tunnles

So back a few hundred posts or so... our not-so-beloved Chinese jackwagon stated that English, was indeed his primary language. Maybe not that far back, but for someone who is new to this site and just happened to pick THIS THREAD to start with (yes, did it bumper to bumper, one fugging trainwreck at a time), it has seemed like a fukking LIFETIME...!!!

That being said... Mr. Tunnles... let me make something perfectly clear...

...NOBODY, IN ANY ENGLISH SPEAKING COUNTRY ON THIS PLANET... talks, writes, or otherwise FAILS AT COMMUNICATION quite as ridiculously as you do, my friend.

So take your Commie-loving ass down to the Yang Tze river... climb into your (self-designed, self made) fiberglass Douche-Canoe... AND ROW THE FUCK OUTTA HERE...!!!!

PLEASE...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh... and one more thing...

The only reason China has even remotely climbed out of the Dark Ages of technology in the last 30 years is because of their CONTINUOUS spying, stealing, hacking, and otherwise obtaining the Intiellectual Property of Advanced Nations', primarily the United States, ILLEGALLY...!!!!

So, STFU and GTFO.

I'm trying to stay away and not further derail this thread but that is all BS, it didn't happen, it won't work. Anybody with any real time working in composites has tried to demold something too soon and stressed the laminate, once that's done you've broken the fragile molecular chains that are forming and at the focal points of such stress the panel will not bend uniformly. In reinforced composite fiber construction you can not make a semi-cured panel conform to a compound curve nor can you reverse a compound curve and you are full of BS and it does no help for the rest of the members on this form that might believe your crap.
You go take 1/2 of a mold off of a football and flip it inside out and show us and I'll eat my words and worship your skill.

I have found that guys that stay in one place and never venture away from the familiar surrounding KNOW VERY LITTLE and NEVER LEARN A THING and are quite content to be the way they are and there bosses are very much the same !!.
LEARNING new things every day and working with skilled people that come from different countries and WORKING IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES you see completely different ways and ideas of how to do things !! Its why I've spent lots time in Asian countries working with and alongside the locals .They have there ways of doing jobs and I have mine so between us we lean from each other and hand on KNOWLEDGE AND IDEAS !! In general most are very clever and some ideas are quite unique ! Tahiti was the first place that opened my eyes !Making 17 foot boat with one laminating roller between 4 people as ne person finished there part they just handed the roller to the guy alongside and he carried on rolling and so on from one end of the boat to the other !And grinding discs that at the end of a job got washed with acetone and hung up to dry ! When you have very little you LEARN TO MAKE DO OR YOU ADAPT !
I WAS asked to go there and teach the guys how to make molds for a big boat and laminating there smaller boats but by the time I left I hade learned MORE FROM THEM than I HAD TAUGHT THEM !some things I learned I have never forgotten !Specially spraying white hull with dark blue gel coat stripes wet on wet spray and never caused a blemish or bleed though of either colour and using one small pressure pot to do the whole job job !

I don't see how you could or can do any of these things, your continuous blather has to get in the way of any and all that you could do.

What sort of medication you on?? not the same as mine I bet !!

Not to interrupt but in 2300 plus replies was there ever any reason given for this failure? or does anyone remember what this thread is about?

For those that have not put tunnles on your ignore list...could please at least not quote him.

It's like a accident that you can't not look at...if you quote him...we have to look at how much deeper he continues to dig. Please...save us all...don't quote him.

You are asking what some people have been waiting for ever since this thread got past page one !
looking at the photos in the beginning and doing some slow analyzing and even a little thinking its possible to sort of reconstruct in your mind what happened and why everything let go at the same time and it FELL APART !
IF SOME ONE HAD BEEN HURT THEN AT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SORTED WEEKS AGO ! personally I LIVE IN HOPE IT WILL BE RESOLVED BEFORE I DIE !
HAVE FUN AND KEEP READING !

This one turned into a story about a Chinese pinnochio. His nose keep growing because he wyes all time to roundeyes. I think tunnels has the Chinese Zachary disease. Sometimes it's fun feediing trolls but when they just keep eating it gets old. I make a pledge that I won't post again on this thread.

I've done a lot of things in my 35+ career in composites. Mostly it's been new product but for most of the first 8-10 years and often sprinkled in amongst the following years it was repairs. While I don't know how to flip fiberglass inside out, one thing I can tell you is no one, and I mean no one, can tell you exactly what happened without some serious hands-on investigation. The company took the boat back and probably did their own inspection to figure out what went wrong. I doubt anyone there will ever spill the beans so we will probably never know the root cause. Several of us have posited possible modes of failure but, at best, they are just educated guesses.
