Default New Big Yamaha V8 Outboard Announcement - May 22

How big do you think the new Yamaha V8 will be?

400?
425?
450?
500?

What is your guess?

We will know on May 22.

You may be right.

The boat builders will be all over the new high HP model(s) and will be snapping them up in droves for installation on new boats. Might be a while for a loose box motor or two to become available for a re-power.

You think it will come with lifetime flywheels replacements? Just kidding, I would think it will start at 350, but you will see 400 a year later.

Its a whole new engine block and they took a page out of the mercury book with a super charger. Supposedly theyre super torquey and made for boat with a lot of weight. Wont be a good motor for too end speed on stepped hulls.

Apparently designed to help out Boston whalers, pursuit, scout, Grady white, Everglades, etc

Look for the 450hp Mercury Verado to come soon, that will be the rocket ship for stepped hull boats or guys that want speed. I believe well see a stock 400hp verado with full warranty and non 93 octane. The 450hp will be their new racing merc

Of course its a whole new platform (block). Because they had to fix the design abomination of the seriously flawed F350.
