Deep scratch in hull
Hi. I have a bunch of minor scratches in my gel coat. But they appear to be cosmetic. This one seems like something I need to address. Any suggestions on how to approach it ? I have searched and read about 10 different threads about this but I couldn’t tell if the scratches were a similar depth. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Outside of washing and waxing the hull I am a complete novice, So please use elementary level vocabulary Here are the pics https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.the...7e7a01a5c.jpeg Thankfully it is well above the waterline https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.the...fe70e0b35.jpeg |
Give marinetex a shot. Easy 2 part epoxy. It's white, so add some blue tint to help hide it. Get a dremel or something and clean out the scratch first then wipe with acetone.

Or if you are OCD, just have your local professional take care of that one scratch for ......... maybe..........$50 or so. They make it disappear completely.

Yea, if it were mine, I would call a pro.
Those dark hulls would be tough for novices to match I would think. |

My shop would charge $175 or so for a repair like that FYI. In a dark color, I'd definitely get the gel from the manufacturer/Spectrum and have a shop do it.
