Default Mako 234

Looking to buy one to bounce around bay and fish within 30miles from home. Any first hand experience with this vessel?

I had a 2006 model with Twin 150s, that I sold back in 2012.. Overall - was a "good" boat - I did have some air-void issues in the keel and some fiberglass issues in the front bow around trailer hook... They had to be addressed and were covered by warranty at the time... Other than that, the boat was a good boat for what it is ....... It was a solid running boat up to 3-5 ft. seas on rough days, and I fished rigs, inshore etc. I would take it 60-70 miles out, no problem...

Yup X2. Had an ‘05 that had big issue with void between Gelcoat and first layer of glass. End result was a sheet (2’X6’) of gelcoat that peeled off. Ended up having it repaired and sold (disclosed repair) the boat. Got an email, from the buyer about 5 months later and it happened again. The Mako’s of this vintage are not the same as the pre ‘99 boats.

With all all that said that boat rode awesome for a 23’ boat. The girls Loved the full head in the console and it we had a blast on it. If you go ahead with it make sure you have a surveyor sound every square inch of the hull.
