Called them up today. 600 hp Max. They may go higher in HP too. Shooting for top speeds above 60 mph. Three caps. Front seating. Raised deck and lower offshore deck.
Draft 13 inches.
Probable launch Lauderdale show perhaps or next Miami 2019.

I'm hoping the layout will be fishy. It will be perfect boat for Venice.

I owned a Cayo SUP a few years ago and it was a very nice product. I believe the owner JB had a boat rebuilding background before then and has since built Cayo poling skiffs. I haven't run one of his skiffs but I've seen a few up close and they also seem to be quality. It's impressive what he has done in a short time and this certainly appears to have serious potential. Looking forward to the finished product, good luck to them.

More beam is the only thing I'd change would love to see 10 feet or more, which is so much more doable in a cat than a mono

10 for beam on a 26í Hull? Is that common? That would be awesome, but not sure Iíve ever seen one that wide.

Not in a monohull it's not. The geometry gets weird.

Nothing stopping one from doing it in a cat, though.

in a cat it is typically 3 to 1 example: 30' length 10' wide

Not really any reason for that though, I don't think. The sponsons don't really care how far apart they are. Sailing cats regularly exceed it.

Cayo posted layout renders on their Instagram and Facebook. I hate the steps in the front but the rest looks good. Lounge style coffin box (I'd prefer a flat top, personally), 2 30 gallon transom livewells, 50 gallon leaning post livewell, good size bow casting deck with storage and pitch well, looks like 4 in floor storage boxes.

I don't want to blow up this guys thread but the short answer is no.
Anyone can look at the Calcutta hull from the front and see it is closer to a tri-hull than a cat hull. Before everyone starts calling me out let me tell you i owned one so i speak from first hand experience.

The Cayo build looks sweet.

I guessing that you had a single engine.

Looks sharp. One complaint I have from the overhead rendering is it looks like you could not fit a shoes width behind the leaning post! What draws me into most cats is the space in the back is massive.

Since they are planning three different deck designs I would guess the cockpit space may change with the deck options.

I bought that up in the comments on the instagram post. I think the scale is deceptive and there is more room than we think though.

Would love to see a bare bones version. No integrated coffin box (use a large cooler instead), slide out cooler under the leaning post instead of the livewell and definitely delete the stupid steps up to the casting deck in the bow. Those steps are just shin knockers.

Good point with different layouts. You could connect those corner boxes and make a large fishbox/seat area like the Ameracat. That way you can eliminate large coffin box and push console up to get more room in back.
