Default Who here has a wooden boat?? (Probably a really short thread)

I’m curious how many wooden boat owners are here?

I know there are at least a few

I have a 17' wooden sail skiff that I use to do day cruises around Bogue sound. It is a great boat but does take a lot of work since it is wood.

I knew a girl in highschool that had wooden legs and real feet. Does that count?

If you are talking about wood cored, then I'm on my 3rd wood boat covered in fiberglass and epoxy. Doubt I'll ever own anything else. And since mine are built right they take no additional maintenance vs a glass tub.

I have a 1940 wooden sponge hookboat, but won't post a photo because it's technically a sailboat and that doesn't work here.

How dare any of THT members have Boats made of Wood or even have Wood in them! You should be Banned.

Just sold my juniper 41'... nothing will ever fish like a wood boat. They are a labor of love but worth every minute of dust and epoxy covered weekend mornings.

I don't have a wooden boat but did purchase the Stimson Ocean Pointer plans.
Timeless lines, ingenious construction method integrating floor with motor well and transom.
Build one according to plan with reasonable craftsmanship and it should last several lifetimes.

I don't have one but I want one. Given enough time I'll build one. My first boat was wood and I sure miss it.
