Given all these motors are good why wouldn't I want the 2 stroke wack, integrated steering ,10 year warranty ?

You're going to get a TON of negative but, I'd take the 10 year warranty all day long.

I have the new HO 150 G2. Leaps and bounds more fun to drive than a 4 stroke.

Power steering is great and digital throttle standard is really nice. I got the 10 year warrany.

Evinrude doesn't BS you on warranty crap like some of the GREY motors do

I get better MPG's than a 4 stroke the faster I go. The sound is badass.

Only I-4 200 I would own would be the 200 Zuke. It gets great reviews.

The only reason I can think of for not wanting the G2 150 over an I4 200, is the G2 200!

Why not the SHO 150 against the G2 150? Or SHO 175?

Come on Dave we know you love Yamaha but the G2 will pull those Yamaha hammers sideways and backwards with better performance.

Warranty issues Yamaha tries to wiggle out of to many issues.

The making oil issues is pretty prevelant right now with the bigger motors. I had one make oil.

Yamaha's excuse is run the boat harder and you are trolling to much. That's hilarious.

Why don't Honda,Zuke and Merc have the same problems when people troll a lot?

Most boats with twins or more aren't just out joy riding. Most are trolling a lot. They aren't sandbar boats.

Yamaha makes a good product. But at the prices they are asking and their warranty issues they aren't what they use to be.

No they offer them in 25 inch shafts now. So Saltwater use is fine.

On single application that's simply not true. And I'm specifically talking about that application which the Op is asking about. Not big twins trolling.

just pulled the trigger for G2 - 200 HO twins -

go for it.

Yamaha is full of themselves - they didn't even send a factory rep to FLIBS.

Where do you come up with this info?
Simply not a true statement.

I was there and in the booth so either the local sales person lied or they did not send any factory sales reps...that is where I come up with this - so from my experience it is TRUE. I was there to buy engines (either Yam 200 or G2's). I left with G2's. I never was able to speak with any factory Yamaha person (I dont live in FL).

Evinrude was staffed well.

This has no bearing on what is the best engine for you; but, Yamaha had the same huge space in the convention center that they always have. On a side note, I also observed more 'zukes on the back of transoms then I have in the past. "Suzuki, not just for repower any more" seems to be the new motto.

What’s not true? My boat the faster I go the MPG’s stay the same or get better. Anything 4000 rpms or better. Don’t know of any 4 stroke that does that.

A guy put a 300 G2 on the exact same boat as what I had. His numbers were way better across the board. Even better than Yamaha ‘s performance bulletin by a good bit.

Ranger 25 Bay was the same results with both engines. G2 beat the Yamaha by a good bit.

These are actual people with real results.

I think finding a good dealer is as important as picking a motor manufacturer.
