Just wondering , is international marine the only game in town for Suzuki motors and fly by wire componets with out the 15-20 % price hike? No one that answers the phone has a clue about products and the guy that seems to be the only one with answers just doesn't call back. They must be busy . I feel like I'm dealing with the soup Nazi.

I guess it's time for another one of these threads, huh?

I had my boat repowered by Mike @ International Marine.
I never had a single problem getting anyone on the phone. Work was done quickly and on budget. Mike gave me more than I thought I was getting and the boat, so far, has 80 hours on it without any issue.

Who exactly are you calling there? As in their name and their number?

Sorry -- but my radar goes off when I see threads like this.
I wouldn't use anyone else for my install. Let's just leave it at that.

Outbaord Specialties was awesome for me. Gave me a great price the first time and the work was first rate. Very knowledgeable. Give them a call.

Just repowered with twin 200aps at Outboard Specialties. Great price but more importantly, excellent work and did everything as promised and on time.

As mentioned many times above you need to contact Outboard Specialties. Mike and Mike know Zukes inside and out, and have since before IM ever existed.

I had a similar experience (unfortunately).

So, I emailed Outboard Specialties. I received a quote within 2 hours. I wired funds within 2 days. The DF300AP was delivered in 10 days from that first email!

They answered my calls. Answered my questions. Sent me rigging information. They totally made me feel comfortable as an owner who was going to mount and rig the engine and controls himself.

Highly recommended

Inter marine must have a crap load of business. But been mentioned on here quite a few times they can be very hard to get a hold of or get any responses back.

Thought this topic came up earlier this year. Mike said he was having somebody answer the phone 24/7? Something to that extent. He was really busy and out the office a lot.

Outboard Spec seems to communicate much better.

Glad you got good service from them. When I did my shopping, called them twice, left message with the secretary and never heard back from them. Went down to their operation and apparently they were out doing a sea trial. Left my name and number again and never heard back from them. I guess I was small potatoes. I eventually bought my DF140A from Nick's Creative Marine in WPB. Guess outboard specialties only deals with big spenders. I'd understand if they at least called back and said they were too busy for me, but was ignored 3x and thus I have nothing good to say about them.

Had the opposite experience and never received a response from Outboard Specialities. International Marine responded within two hours with all quotes I was interested in.

I'm sure both are incredibly busy this time of year. Haven't pulled the trigger yet but I'm assuming both are priced similarly...

I've received quotes from all the Suzuki dealers mentioned so far. In defense of International Marine, they replied almost instantly. You have to email Lynette and she'll reply ASAP. Mike and Brian are busy and take longer. They were also the cheapest both rigged and motor only. Nick's replied about a day later and was the next cheapest. Outboard Specialties was the most expensive rigged, haven't got a motor only price from them yet. My builder is gonna rig the motor for me at no charge so I'm down to buying the motor outright and taking it to Manny to hang.

Default Hey Guys

Sorry we are in the Bahamas on a family vacation. All of my voicemails and email are up to date.

As mentioned we have an answering service that is availble 24/7. The reason for this is we have a lot of walk in customers. I feel it is rude for me to take calls when we have someone at our desks. You will them be directed to a voice mail or get and actual person via the service.
We will call you back out our first opertunity. This may even be after hours.

I just checked our call log and we are averaging about 800 or so calls a day. Many of these are members from THT that we spend time with on the phone to help them with their issue even if they did not buy anything from us.

I am here if you need me and will get you in touch with anyone on our staff if needed. Have a great day!

Mike

Interesting enough. I found the opposite to be the case.

With International Marine you have to know who to talk to. There's a time to talk to Lynette, Mike, Steve, Tyler, etc. I always got a call back quickly from them and EVERYTHING was in writing.

I'm not going to full-on bash Outboard Specialties. I know they're loved here on THT and I know that Suzuki loves them. My experience with them wasn't good. When I went to do a repower it wasn't any better. If anyone needs details, feel free to PM me.

International Marine treated me extremely well. If the invoice for $0 or $40,000 I was treated well.

Nicks creative Marine installed my 200, they are in Riviera beach. They gave me the best price and the installation went smoothly.
