INV did not post any details related to the trip on here. I was watching the NOAA site that day and the long range forecast. 8-12', no thanks.

Hey Houlester, nice video! I was stationed on a 210' Cutter out of Key West back in the early 80s and saw some big shit. We took a trip to baltimore from key west in a 30 knot wind from the east and were routinely rolling 45 degrees for three days. The Captain, the first class bosun, and myself were the only ones that ate during that trip!

It says no BS in the title and now the claims of running in 10' seas. 🐃🛳

I don't pay attention to sea height and speed claims any longer. Wave Period has as much to do with it. I've been on the Mid- Pacific [midway island area - I was either manning a Sonar console or waxing the floor (deck)] on beautiful days where it was 6' - 8' but the ocean looked like the surface of a golf ball and I couldn't see any small boat surviving that though they have. There's a couple vids of big cats running in bumpy water that answered my questions about what to expect from one. I just sit back and enjoy watching the evolution of this class of boat - seems the big CC mono has reached it's limit for now. Telling how Seawolff wasn't immediately a convert but now your talking 40' cat outboard vs 42' mono outboard. Seems like at 30' the cat has some big advantages (10' beam as one). my 2 cents

It would be nice to see more material on the actual boat and less duelling with handbags

Most relevant post in the thread for ages.

Experienced seafarers wont bother engaging in the sea state arguments, they watch the vids, read the claims, then draw their own conclusions lol

Fished yesterday on my 58’ Jarrett Bay. Buoy reading 4.9ft at 6 seconds. Dead into Head sea on the way out. 22-23knts all I could make and we even launched a time or two. Previously had two Freeman’s and they are badass but I don’t care what CC you were in yesterday you were turning around unless you are just looking for a pure ass beating not to mention even trying to fish once you get there in it.

Fished near the 58 JB in a 67 and didn't run much faster than them. Mother nature is an incredible force

T-bone , Chime in on any of these type of threads when they seem to go askew and just leave a simple " I was on my Jarrett bay 58 ...in this..... doing that...and it was......." No need to really even comment , just a subtle policing action.

I will start off with the 40 ft invincible cat is one of the most amazing boats with ride and handling made but also I am in love with the 42 invincible step and I finally came to a tough decision that I am keeping my current boat that I just repowered till the Miami boat show at which time I will consider ordering another 42 step with quads... sorry guys but no new build thread
