Gotta love it, some old lady just tried to chew me out for "discharging water overboard into a canal my grandkids swim in"

I guess she assumed it was sewage? But it's been running since 7pm yesterday till 1pm today.. how could she possibly think there was that much sewage on my tiny 30 ft boat..

Either way, had to tell the old lady 3 times that it was for A/C and it's just salt water..said to bring anyone over and check it out. She just gave me a double hand wave and walked away.

Meanwhile the water in this canal is about as gross as can be. I wouldn't even put a foot in the water let alone a kid!!!

She's actually the second person since I bought this boat to try and ask if what I was doing is legal.. wtf, do people really have no idea about A/C on a boat??

Someone didn't believe me the other day at the sandbar that my Boston Whaler DC has a generator and A/C that discharge. They were convinced that I had multiple bilge pumps running nearly constantly.

I had to bring him onboard to show them that yes, even smaller boats have luxury items now.

That is something I would not have done. I would have insisted that she/him contact the Environmental Police and then told her to have a nice day

X2...I go boating to relax and, hopefully, get away from the nitwits but its not really working out for me. I have no patience for people trying to mind my business, so,

I would have done as you suggested and let them make a fool of themselves. Maybe that will give them pause next time

Now I feel like I need to mount a thu hull at the boot stripe and run a pump for it to look like I have AC on my boat.

She would really come unglued over grey water pump out. You should take a shower next time she is outside.

I would guess probably 95% of the public has no idea why you would have water pouring out of your boat. Does not mean they are stupid, they just don't know and may be curious.
With that said, once they ask the question, and they get an answer, they should accept the answer and not cop an attitude.
I can remember asking the same question before I knew the answer.

That would have been different - I'm sure she didn't mean to come off like an asshole but yelling EXCUSE ME and then accusing me of doing something illegal when you have no clue what it is......isn't really a good way to make friends
