Looks great, congrats. I like the grey upholster work. Would love to see some interior pictures. Was the 46mph at WOT or are you limited until after the break in?

I have heard great things about the rhodan's. They still look a little odd to me on a deep vee boat but everybody that uses them loves them and that's what really matters. Whats your primary use for the rhodan? Bottom fishing without having to anchor?

That Trolling motor is badass, your bottom fishing game is gonna be strong. Almost wish I had gone that route instead of the windlass, but it has been working really well at the sandbar and pulled up in a 120’ of water the other day without breaking a sweat!

the boat had plenty of throttle left, we briefly took it up to 54mlh but the rpms were rapidly rising hence the need for a little more pitch in the prop.

the rhodan will be used for deepdroppong for grouper/bottom fishing as well as holding upcurrent of oil rigs while fishing.

I hope to have a good report after this weekend.

I have seen a lot of 29s and the 24. Are they currently building a 27?

the 29 is the old 27 with the euro bracket added. There is no longer a 27.

I've talked to a few of the guys on here and visited the shop a few times. I'm close to pulling the trigger, but just not there yet.

Does anybody have one in Miami that I could check out...possibly fish with one day? I'd pay for all gas and bait. Hard to buy a new boat without ever having been on the ocean in one. I'm also still trying to process the flat bottom on the bottom stern of the boat...has anybody been on a 29 before and after this modification? I have to imagine this mod was made to help at higher speeds, but fishing in SFL I care more about performance in 3-4s than I do about going 60mph.

Any additional info or insight is appreciated.

Are you selling yours? If so i might be really interested.

I was over at the shop about 2 weeks ago talking to Carlos about a build. I followed your build here and in IG and I was actually going to reach out to you soon with some questions about the build.

Dan, I have ridden in both (mine has flat pad) and to be honest, I don't see a difference with the flat pad. As far a performance on a 29' boat in 3-4's....best to stay home in mow the yard. I fished in 3-5s for a tourney last weekend and it just sucks, regardless of the boat.
tam and cwhite6 like this.

I'm not trying to be unrealistic...I know a true 3-4 (especially tight) sucks...but the reality is, as somebody who works 5 days/week, has young kids/family, I don't often get to choose my fishing days. I go out when I can as long as it's doable. I went out in my 2550 in some nasty stuff and she performed as well as I could expect. I know it's not ideal, but I would like to know that a flat pad isn't going to effect these days negatively...or even a tight 2-3'. Sucks Carlos doesn't have a boat for sea trial, so it forces me to come to the forum and dig for answers to any of my questions.

When i was at the shop a couple weeks ago Carlos said he could arrange a boat for sea trial if i wanted to. I didn't get any further than that so i'm not sure if he can actually do it or if it was just talk to make a sale. He said to call Brian and he wold get it scheduled with Carlos.

Dan, that flat pad doesn't affect the ride. That pad should never be breaking waves. It's only like 8 feet long so you would have to be launching out of the water barking the props to ever hit that thing. However, I would recommend you ride on one to be sure you like it.

I've been to the shop a few times...the most recent to talk details/specifics. He said they sold the boat he was using for sea trials (was a customer who he had an arrangement with) and didn't have anything. My last visit was a few weeks ago.

Maybe I just like to run hard...8' is pretty damn long, It's not like I'm never running on that area (and not necessarily barking the props). Yes, I definitely would like to ride one...but I feel as though I'm begging. Nothing against Carlos and how busy he is, but maybe a 14 month lead time means that there's not much time for a potential customer like me. Once again....nothing against him or the situation....the boats obviously sell themselves without any advertising, sales team or customer service. He's always the one that attends to me at the shop and answers any and all questions. Good and bad I guess...

He told me the same thing about the arrangement with a customers boat and how it recently sold. It was a boat that had Evenrude's on it. I rode it at the boat show 2 years ago. He went on to say that there was another customers boat he could use. Again i don't know how true that is or not and it sounds like we got different answers.

You would think he would have a 'shop' boat around for people to see a completed boat and to test ride. Its not like he has alot of models that would require multiple 'shop' boats. Its hard to even see a completed boat unless one of the ones he is actively building is almost done.

i gotta side with Carlos on this one... having a boat for sea trials will only bog him down worse. his boats sell without it, and he's got a steady line of builds to do. sucks for those who want it, but a sea trial will take the better part of the day, which takes away from boat building time.

not actively selling, but I wouldn't say no to it if someone offered to buy it. Nothing wrong with the boat, its perfect for us, but I have been contemplating getting into a 32-34' while Im still somewhat young and ambitious lol.
