Default Everglades 243 restoration project (2009 model)

So after my nephews broke the live well lid on my Everglades 243, it was time to overhaul it and make it look like a 2018 model.

Thus, I am posting my journey to help anyone else out there planning to do the same.

To do list:

1) remove bottom paint (white) and re-gel coat it -done
2) paint hull Ice Blue -done
3) paint t-top underside Ice Blue -done
4) paint engine White -done
5) new logos for Yamaha engine
6) new trim tabs actuators, controls, tabs with mirror finish -done
7) Replace bow 6x9 speakers with 8.8 JL -done
8) New Everglades letters
9) New clear scuppers -done
10) New JL radio
11) Power Pole/jack plate -done
12) New Swim ladder -done
13) Fix Broke items
15) New White LED bow light
16) New LED livewell Light

As 8 years of the Florida sun dulled the Royal Blue, it is time to turn into ICE BLUE.

Great project. I have a friend with a blue 2007 that faded over the years. This winter they sanded it and polished it and it looks brand new. They also repaired some powder coating, replaced the bow light, etc. it came out awesome.

Great boat.

6) new trim tabs actuators, controls, tabs with mirror finish.

Ordered the new Controllers and actuators from Lenco. The newer unit has LED light to show the status and automatically put the tabs in the up position when you turn on the engine. -Nice!

Unfortunately, they want over $500 for polished mirror trim tabs (12x12) and that was just one sided polished. -I want all sides.

So I took my nasty old bottom painted tabs to a local metal shop and got all sides cleaned and buff to a mirror shine for half that.

Do yourself a favor and install the wetsounds rev 696 in that speaker hole you already have. Way louder than the 8.8s

I have 4 wetsounds revo 8's for the first time in a boat and I think I like the JL much better. After 2 months I've already had to replace one.

I've been looking at a 243 and would like to hear your opinions on the boat after owning it for several years.
