Blackjack 265 colors and options from factory
#1

I will be ordering a bj256 this coming week and am looking for opinions on colors and factory options. I am going with the f300 and options added so far are trim tabs, boarding ladder, and washdown. In some pics I have seen the leaning post looks to be kind of far from the console but may just be angle of picture. Any input from current owners of things they would have done or not done would be appreciated.

I am a new (took delivery 6/8) BJ 256 owner, and so far couldn't be happier. I've gone through the most painful first few hours of the break-in period so I've been able to open her up a little. As many previous BJ owners will attest, the ride is AMAZING!! You have made a wise decision. Regarding colors, your dealer should have ~ 3x6 inch chunks of fiberglass with the various options. It's difficult to envision the boat with such a small sample, but it at least gives you an idea. The leaning post is in a very comfortable position. The factory was very accommodating to a few custom options that I requested. I cannot think of many other companies that would have done the same thing. Enjoy the process, and add about 4 weeks to any estimation they give you for delivery...

Not the same same but I just ordered a new Blackjack 224 to replace my KW 230. The order process has been pretty easy and my local dealer very accommodating with my requests. The 224 gets a new console design based off the 256, allows flush mounting a big screen HDS Carbon. Speaking of the 256, I got a full tour of the new boat 2 years ago by Bill Kenner himself, lots of details hidden under the beautiful design. You will love the boat!

Convert starboard side rod locker into long insulated fish box. Forward face is flush with no rod holes.
Make a cushion for a Yeti 65 for the forward seat. My interior color is ivory/cream, and I didn't like the contrast of the snow white K2 Coolers. So, I bought tan 65 and 75 Yeti's that match much better. I know, it's an OCD thing, but it would've driven me crazy otherwise...
Remove bottom section of the rod holders underneath the gunnels that ran all the way to the deck. Had a KW 210 Bay Reef before with the same issue, and it caused many a four letter words from myself and several friends with stubbed toes.

I have had my 256 for about 3 months now and couldn't be happier! You will love the boat! As far as colors, I went with the Seafoam Green (entire hull) with a white inside. I love the color! I originally wanted the Ice Blue, but am glad I changed my mind. The color is purely personal preference!
