Default Great feedback

Appollo...,..I believe the Yama 100 (mine is 2002 MY) is the predecessor to the F115 as I know they don't offer the F100 any longer. It's really been a solid reliable motor since the get go. Never any issues.

Thanks again for identifying the considerations I need to be making in the decision process. The info is priceless. I hope to pull the trigger on one of the 3 early next week. If I go zuke I'm gonna go the higher power 140.

I am a Mercury convert As of 2012 with the new 150. I think that new 115 pro can will not disappoint. Merc has really dialed in these motors to be dependable.

Mercury also has the Pro XS 115 which has a little extra power as well.

Another thumbs up for the Merc. We put a '16 115 ct on our toon in early spring and I love it so far. I'm not a Merc guy, but the best service in the area was a Merc dealer. Rigged out the door was right over $8800 with prop, controls, and a smartcraft tach.

250ish hours this year w/o a hiccup. She is a strong motor. Gl with your purchase.

Kind of surprised that the Yam 115 is cheaper than the Suzuki. Are they planning to reuse the rigging?

Rolyna........the Yama dealer price is with existing rigging, which I prefer not to use.

Also own the Mercury 115hp Command Thrust on a 19' Twin Vee Bay Cat. Love the motor so far. You will have a wide range of props to pick from with the Mercury Command Thrust. My Mercury replaced a 2006 Suzuki DF115. We get a couple extra MPH top end, about 4 MPH better cruise at same RPM and slightly better fuel consumption with the Mercury. I give a lot of credit for better performance to the big Mercury Enertia prop & the command Thrust lower unit.

Mercury also requires no valve adjustments and is set up for easy owner servicing. The owners manual which comes with the engine even comes with installation instructions.

Best of luck with whatever you pick.

I have a Cobia 196 that I got a great deal on new in 08. Markets were crashing and that boat sat on the lot for over a year and the dealer was paying interest on it every month and just wanted to unload it. It came with a Yamaha 115. That model boat also offered a 150. For many years I did fine with the 115 but noticed after putting on a t-top that it struggles to get on plane heading into the wind as it doesn't have enough power to fight the lift of the t-top. Go for the bigger engine.

Many thanks to all for the great inputs. I believe I'm going with the merc 115 ProXS with Command Thrust.
And thanks for the well wishes for the purchase and use.
