Recently took a trip to upstate NY and visited the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton I got to say guys it is incredible. On display is a modern Elco skiff. Electric is doable in an Adirondack sized skiff hard to imagine it cant be applied to large craft.

If you google nordhavn diesel electric a bunch of stuff comes up. I would prefer not to post up a bunch of stuff. If one does their DD it can be found.
