Agreed on the performance, but I think the Freeman has better lines (which is obviously an entirely subjective thing), and Compmillenia doesn't build many boats yet so hard to make the comparison..

I believe they are now completing hull #3, so that not bad for a boat that was still on the drawing boards last year. #3 has twin 300's and 2mpg at 47 mph is what they got on a heavier one with 350's, so this one could even be more efficient.

I also agree with you about the beautiful lines of the Freeman and personally feel that that feature was an important factor in its success, but the Compmillenia has never taken the time to be photographed by professionals and may be suffering in comparisons.

It takes at least a couple of years to design, build plugs that can be tested on the water and modified prior to producing molds and finally produce hulls. Lots of work.

If it's asymetrical it shoud be a hit with the nearshore kingfisherman...

I know this was likely meant as a tongue in cheek comment, but for the sake of the other posters, and If I am not mistaken:

Offshore racing cats (most) are asymetrical

Prowler 36 and 42 are asymetrical, their older hulls symetrical

Freeman, compillenia, calcutta, and others are symetrical.

Invincible has a 39 and a 42 foot monohull. But their catamaran being released soon is a 40 foot hull.

They are using a 39 console but the boat is 40 ft long and 12 ft beam and has 35 percent more deck space then the 42 ft , and from the profile view it has the same lines as the 42 and does not look like a cat at all from the rendering... a real pretty boat with all the bells and whistles...

houlester 04-19-2017 06:16 AM

The suspense is killing me but I guess that's what they want.

Captllama 04-19-2017 07:33 AM

any idea on pricing?

Gotta build interest/anticipation. Hopefully they knock it out of the park.

Seawolf, is there any chance this rig will have a cabin? All of these large boats are marketed as multi-day capable but few have anywhere to sleep;?

Not going to quote you exact amount, but we have taken numerous deposits. I have several customers myself. If you are a Cat buyer and you sit down with us and look at what we are building!, it's simple, you want in.

I guess they want you to come to the factory,, they would not allow me to take any pic of the renderings or spec sheet. They are in opalacka north Miami just take a ride there and they are available just call Blake, bill, or dave and setup a appointment ...it will be worth your trip...

The cat has the same console as the 39, but only has a 52 inch head clearance, due to it being a cat , but they make a great 42 step center console the same as mine, but with sleeping accommodation for 2 to sleep with a frig, shower , a/c , TV, etc all running off D/C so no generator is necessary...A great boat for those over nighters....I think pics are on their website,....
