Default which expanding foam?

i have an 83 crestliner nordic, had to take one of the carpeted boards near the back off (not the floor, the side of the boat) to expose the compartment for wiring repair. it's full of old foam i need to rip out to get to the wires... my question is when i'm done with the wiring, which foam should i use to fill it back up? it's not a large area, i have about 5 cans of Great Stuff left over from a project i could spray in there, should be more than enough to fill it. looking for something cheap and available at a common box store. fresh water, rarely fish in the rain, boat is garage kept.

thanks!

I'd just leave it open.

If you do decide to spray Great Stuff, don't try to fill it all in one shot. One part spray foam (like Great Stuff) is moisture cured. If you spray too much at one time, it will not expand and cure correctly. Better to spray one layer at a time give it some time to expand and firm up and then spray the next layer.
