That guy spraying all that gel coat with no mask must not have a brain left! That's crazy, even if there is a good exhaust fan running, killing himself! Ok so that's my safety briefing! Carry on with the awesome build!

I think that's Bill (Owner of Prowler). He designed this beast so I'm thinking he still has some brain left.

Well, I wasn't going to follow another build post as they are they are too distracting, but since you're doing a condensed version...

Congrats, man. Boat looks awesome, & glad you talked Bill out of mono-chrome. Seating & births all sound great. As much as I lIke Verados, I think you'll be real happy going w/ the big V8's.

Looking forward to seeing more pics, & ultimately a fishing report!

i really wish Bill would wear protective gear spraying that stuff - someone else said that he would get sick and it's true - also sets a bad H&S example for his guys

Mako,

Thank you for doing a build thread. One of my favorite parts of THT is the build threads. I hope to see you in the GI/Fourchon area.

It's funny. I looked back at all my old pics I had of him building my last boat as well as others and he was wearing full gear. I'm not sure why he wasn't in this case. Maybe he will respond.

Glad y'all are interested. I don't want to be a spammer so I wasn't going to do it- especially since I did the long one with the plug construction and testing-but I find it fascinating and educational to watch so I figured I'd share. Hope to see ya down there.

Today they're trimming the flanges to prepare for the cap. The cap will be bonded on tomorrow or Wednesday. After that it moves to rigging and the race is on!

One more shot. We are doing a boot stripe with imron at the color break. Probably silver with black pinstripes.

That is a great looking boat Mako.
And really like the condensed version of build thread so readers can learn a lot and see a lot of progression at one time.

Best of luck with this really cool boat.

Agreed. Lots more action. Appreciate your threads.

That seat is the truth. Perfect for that boat.

The first 4 Prowler 42's will all have a different layout. That's very cool to be able to get the boat design you want. No "cookie-cutter" with Bill,,,, You want it you got it !! Good job Brother.

I should mention that my current boat is under contract. I get quite a few messages from people that want it, and for good reason. I will be running it until July 8th and then delivering her to the new owner---exactly 1.5 miles from where she sits now.

The first 3 42s have sold to 31 Prowler owners, and I know of three other 42s that should come out in the next year that are also 31 Prowler owners, so there will be several 31s hitting the market soon. Two are basically brand new(2015s with under 200 hours) and one is a repowered 2007. All three will be extremely nice.

I'm going to post very few updates on the thread, but when I do I'll make them meaningful. It will probably be 2-3 weeks before I post anymore pics, and the thread should be finished by August.

Twin 350 Yams, and no console pics yet.

You are correct--the first 4 are totally different. Very interesting to see people's tastes carried out in a custom build.

When the liner to hull gap is filled with expanding foam, how much stiffer than conventional methods does the end result produce? I love the lines of this hull. Thanks so much for the threads you have done! Truly informative
