Probably could convert the water supply line to a fuel line. Make sure to use non-ethanol gasoline. These older porcelain grills were built before e-10 was the norm and can cause all sorts of problems.

Definitely go with Flush mount rod holders as this will inevitably become a magnificent rocket launcher.

Good ol' grilled food should keep you and your crew full of flatulence, which is ironically about 7% methane. Therefore you should always have a reserve which will keep you within the one third rule. Obviously this is ideal since you will be tackling this project with a safety first attitude.

The toilet float would obviously be your primer bulb and the tank lever could be modified to control the heat. I suggest cooking on the highest possible setting. You really want to sear your Meat to keep the juices in.

Do your business, light a match, jiggle the handle and throw another shit on the barbie.

I would go for the diesel version of said gasoline grill..hell throw some DEF in there for a little extra flavor.

I used to grill with gasoline but my exhaust smoked too much.

This is why I asked.
Its easy to get fuel except propane at many marinas in Mexico where i spend winters.
Diesel and gas are easily available.
We cook over things with fumes so I thought maybe gas to....i wasn't sure.
Actually propane is scarier than gas in many ways.
Its fumes sink and get down inside the boat.....gas fumes evaporate or rise and go away.
I have used a propane grill and white gas grill onboard several boats for years.
Most of my cooking is done on the rear of the boat in the open.
There is nothing to catch fire or place for gas fumes to build up.
Its an aluminum Kingfisher boat.
I will find an alternative.

Forgive us for having fun at your expense. I will admit, you have big huevos for wanting to bar b q with gas and going to Mexico in a boat, what with all the drug gangs, killings and such. Best of luck however you decide to cook...

Unlike many others, I posted "No" to the suggestion and then read some informed responses and followed the links.
Damn!! I was wrong!

Coleman open burn stoves and similar do in fact use unleaded gasoline as a fuel. I would never have thought that appropriate whether from a safety or health perspective.
Personally, I wouldn't do it but clearly, it is not an idea worthy of a Darwin award.

If there is one designed for unleaded, I don't see why not to consider it.

I use a propane grill on my cockpit gunwale while at anchor in calm waters. I hang a wet towel over the gunwale and am prepared to shove the whole thing over if it gets out of control. Got both fw and sw washdown hoses available too.

Lift corners of wet towel and over she goes. Fire risk then zero.

Not liking having propane on board either, but I take some risks to have good food.

Take some basic precautions and use a stove designed for the fuel and you should be ok.

Regardless of whether there's anything else flammable near the grill the thought of using gasoline near an open flame on a boat sounds extremely sketchy. Wouldn't the food taste like gas also?

I don't see a problem with a dual fuel Coleman stove. I would want it mounted in a rod holder or some quick way to ditch it if needed. Obviously you would be cooking with a pan not grilling. Some folks have no clue

The Coleman dual fuel, white gas / unleaded fuel stoves are used as a cooking heat source. Boiling water and heating food in a pan not for grilling as some are thinking. The one's I've owned are designed for camping and backpacking only.

The OP asked about a gas powered grill, like steaks on an open fire type of grill. Where burning gas emissions can place a nice carcinogenic coating on your meal. A stove that you place pots and pans is one thing but cooking things on the open flame is entirely different to me. But then I use only propane and ceramic with organic meat so maybe its just me...

Sounds like a great way to waste meat. Gasoline must leave a nasty taste not to mention the dose of harmful toxins on the food.

Just use the new gasoline or better yet E85 and it tastes like corn!

Marinate steaks in 90 octane or higher for ten minutes.
Place on asphalt and light with match.
2 minutes on each side, or to taste.
