An employee of Mercury? You know that do you? I was just trying to help you.

Haaa.. I had a Mercury in 2008 that never ran right from the day I got it. I dumped it and the boat a year later. I'll never buy one again.

By the time I'm done, it will be the most expensive motors Mercury Marine has ever produced.

Hey, I'm not going to address legalities again, but Libel is when you defame someone by using a LIE. He admitted he said it when he realized I had proof against him. He only began to use additional words to squirm out of it. I wasn't born yesterday, there wasn't a single lie or misrepresentation of fact noted in any of my posts. I've got the witness', photos and documentation to prove everything...

Enough said.. now back to the show...
For those who don't have a Mercury Verado and want to know what an oil leak looks like.. This is just one of the two motors that I own. I have photos of the other motor also leaking oil...but we'll save that one for a rainy day

So what was the lie? You discuss with the CSR, he says take down the THT post and that will help get goodwill. You said you want new engines.

Did he ever agree to give you the new engines? Did he renege on that agreement?

Confusing.

Well there is your problem. You are trying to do the impossible.

THT is long on emotion and short on facts and logic.

Every boat or motor that ever has had a pimple on its ass should be replaced with a new and improved version of the motor. With damages for lost time, lack of consort with the little woman, and god only knows what else being paid by the big bad mean manufacturer who is out to screw the little guy.

What does "and witnessed by others and documented by me" mean? Did you record the guy? I don't want to really get involved in this cause frankly, you seem a little nutty, just asking?

If you had the conversation on speakerphone with your wife listening while you took notes, that's not going to get you very far.

If we called you a lawyer wouldn't that be the worst sort of defamation we could provide you? Would that be actionable in a court of law?

Call me a child molester. A dog harmer. Just don't go calling me a lawyer.

Well, judging by the lawyers on here, I'd probably be a lot richer so I'd probably care even less what you called me.

It's already documented in the first post. He said that for him to show goodwill BEYOND the warranty he would first need me to delete all of my posts from THT (why would I agree to delete my posts if he was just going to verify that my covered items were going to be covered and I was going to be stuck with a lemon). So, like a sucker, I deleted everything on THT thinking that he would "show goodwill beyond the warranty", or at the very least get Upper Management of Boston Whaler Involved and start a discussion as to how we can resolve the underlying issues. But nooooooo, after I remove all of my posts, he lets me know by email (because he lacked the courage to call me) that he spoke with my service rep and that Mercury is going send in the parts for the repair. When I questioned him about the so called Goodwill.. He forgets all about that. Then when I remind him of his own words, he then tries to squirm out of it..

TO THIS DAY, NOT A SINGLE PERSON FROM UPPER MANAGEMENT OF BOSTON WHALER OR MERCURY HAS REACHED OUT TO ME. Yes, Mercury sent a Technician at the request of the dealer (who has been great), and to no surprise the technician found additional items broken or not working properly that needed additional repairs.

Hey, its all fine with me.. No problem.. Let the fun begin

My ultimate beef is not with a low level customer service manager, he's just the one that pissed me off to take this to the next level. Its the culture of Boston Whaler and Mercury Marine and how they treat their customers.

This is not about a single issue with a single motor. This is an issue that I'm experiencing on a regular basis and how Boston Whaler and Mercury Marine hide beyond their warranty while putting people's lives in danger, while people spend big bucks and receive unreliable and undependable products and how customers are losing overall value on their products at no fault of their own...and Boston Whaler and Mercury Marine thinks they can BS and Bully their customers in deleting posts and keep you going back and forth for repairs without any repercussion.

I don't work for Boston Whaler, but if I did and I was a higher level manager, I would never call you. I be too afraid my name would end up on THT being called all kinds of names and I'd never work in the industry again. I'd call my legal department and let them deal with it.

I came really close to buying a conquest 285 I glad I went the route I did.

Didn't someone have a similar promise from mercury who had water ingestion? I swear he got the same thing that if he deleted his thread they would work with him soon as he did they walked away from the table.

I doubt he cares at this point- he just doesn't want anyone else to be ripped off by them.

They used to be a good company before they were bought out.

Yeah... that's pretty interesting.. because that will make a GREAT PR Case for Boston Whaler.. Sue your customer for calling you names because you sold them a dangerous and defective boat/motors and put people in harms-way.. I'd love for that to happen..

You know.. As I go through my history of photos.. I forgot, to mention how I also had faulty sensors of some kind that kept claiming that I had water in my fuel, when in reality I didn't, it was just bad wiring or a faulty sensor... I guess when things fall apart on you on a regular basis, you miss things...

I know how it feels to be screwed, but man, not caring about a quarter million dollar boat, never had the luxury of that. Smoke em if you got em.

I'm all for the OP informing all about what he has had to deal with. These boats and motors require a major investment of hard earned money and they should be required to perform properly and any issues that do come up should be handled accurately and professionally and the satisfaction of the customer should be the top priority. This obviously wasn't the case in the OP's situation.

Talking to the small independent shop doing my re-power on a very old hull, I was surprised when he mentioned how often he fixes rigging mistakes by large, reputable boat manf... I guess I shouldn't have been.

Listen, all truth be told... money comes and money goes. Your Health and Family can't be replaced by money. Principle, Honor, Character and Integrity can not be replaced by money. Unfortunately those at Boston Whaler / Mercury Marine have never learned that. That for that paycheck every two weeks they have no problem screwing another human, even though down in their hearts they know what is happening is not fair.

I have been fortunate in life, I've been blessed. Anyone who knows me, knows I would give them the shirt off my back... Maybe I'm nuts, but I believe good things have occurred to me because I do good by others. Thus, when it comes to being raked over the coals by lying corporations that think if they just ignore the problems and they will go away, I have no problem in taking a stand.

Honestly, I was initially set back when Boston Whaler told me that for them to show goodwill, I would need to remove my THT posts. Really? are they really that shallow. Then they even mention something about a confidentially agreement. Really? How much exposure is really out there with this group. How many people have they silenced? How many deals have been made?.

I'm not interested in ANY DEAL from Boston Whaler/Mercury Marine. I'll keep my motors, I'll keep bringing that boat back... but I will expose them for who they are and what their culture breeds.

And for those who think I'm just a whiner who is upset that he didn't get what he wants.. Well whiners who don't have pride don't go out and buy multiple Boston Whaler Jackets, Hats, Stickers, Towels, Blankets and Shirts.. There are Customers and then there are CHEERLEADERS. The CHEERLEADER are those customers that spread the goodwill and actually generate leads and more business for your product. I WAS a Cheerleader,. See photo: The ones below are brand new, haven't worn them, I believe tags are still on.. If you want one (and you're not a Boston Whaler or Mercury Marine peeper), and you are an XL, just PM me your address and its yours. I'll even pick up the postage... The other items that have been worn I'll have my wife give them away to charity.
