Default Removing decals from boat - what is next step

I'm using the 3M Stripe off wheel (which is great by the way) to remove the decals on my boat. Looking for recommendations for next steps so you cannot tell there used to be a decal there. Here are a couple pictures:

Hit the hullsides with a good compound and see where you stand.. From the looks of the pictures you should be able to blend the two areas nicely.

Wetsand and buff.

Unfortunately you'll probably always be able to see a ghosted image.

Wetsand with 600 and 800 grit and compound then polish. Depending on how much sun was on the boat you may still see ghosting, as mentioned.
