Default 28-32ft center console

I need some input on purchasing a 28-32 ft center console. I am looking for a fishing boat that I can do some serious offshore fishing in as well as trips to the Bahamas. My location commonly experiences 4-6ft swells so I'd like something that will ride in rougher water. My budget is $150,000 and I'm not looking for the creature comforts of a family boat. I want something designed for reliability and fishing. Also, the newer the better.

You can almost buy a brand new Cape Horn 31T w/ twin 300hp Yamaha's in that range. A year or two old with electronics is an easy find.

Brand new 28 whitewater with twin 250's, electronics and moderate options can be bought for 135k brand new. One of the best riding rough water boats out there. Also more storage than most boats up to 35' long. Definitely a fishing platform

Okay so if I can afford something new or almost new in that price range. Any idea of what I can pick up used in good condition for my budget? Can be a little longer, just don't want to go any shorter than 28

Look on Boat Trader, Yachtworld and here on THT. Type in your search guidelines to narrow down available boats. You might find a model like Edgewater, Regulator, etc that also meets your criteria, so it's worth a look.

You can also hire a buyers broker to represent yourself. It should cost you nothing as he/she will be paid from proceeds from brokerage fee, assuming it is a listed boat. If broker knows of a private seller who has not listed his vessel then you'll have to pony up some commission. Sort of like listing real estate, seller generally pays the listing fees unless owner hasn't signed a listing/brokerage contract.

Please be sure to get a survey on whatever used boat you decide on. It's usually around $500-$600 for boats that lenght and money well spent. Good luck!
