Buy the service manual and learn to do it yourself, for that price it might be worth learning to do.

Not knowing anything about how hard it might be to do it does seem high.

Pull oil samples and send them off. They check OK change the filters and keep on trucking (by boat).

I only have a single Volvo diesel but bought 4gal rotella, 4 qts tranny fluid, supercharger oil ($50 a 1\2 pint!) Oil fuel (2) air filters and impeller for $250. I figure it takes me 4 hours to change things out. So a mechanic @$100\hour would be a total of about $650. The mechanic should be faster than me. Sounds high to me unless your engines are difficult to access.

Sounds crazy to me. you can afford to buy an automatic oil changing pump and manifold, and still have lots of money left over. Learn to do it yourself

If you're out there on an Island where mechanic and supplies will be flown in and the price includes an import duty it's probably about right, but we have no idea where you are

Yes that is very close to what it use to cost me to have the Mans serviced for all the fluids. Started doing it myself after two years and reduced it to a little over $1200. Just oil is over $700, fuel filters about $350 and oil filters don't remember.

Just changed mine a few weeks back. Crank up the music; down the AC and took about 2 hours less transmissions & generator. Cost.....maybe in the 200. range but not worth the time to add it up. You can pick up the filters online at wholesale prices these days and if you don't already have an oil change pump mounted down there would be good time to get one. Welcome to boating......

Don't wear a rolex when you ask a mechanic for a quote.
