I'm fishing early AM and Late PM for stripers in Boston Harbor and surrounding area outside this excellent fishers mostly alone. Would like a retired person to accompany me on these sport fishing trips for company. Someone that really is into fishing, but does not have a boat.

He has a decent boat. I have a retired friend who loves to fish, so I am taking him with me sometimes.

Could be just a nice lonely old guy.

It's not like he's soliciting children.

Call him and tell him he's creepy. His name is Joe. Maybe he will take you "out".

Not creepy at all. In fact I think it is rather douchy to call out a retired person that is looking for company. I agree there is one creep on this thread. But it ain't the guy looking for fishing partners Btw, take a look at bdoutdoors.com someday. There are entire forums set up for "trip planning" to match guys that want to fish but have no boats with guys that have space on the boat. Nothing creepy about meeting new people with a common interest at all. What a dick.

Hey, I'd fish with him if I lived in the area....I'd be armed, but I'd still go!

I'd fish with him if I was retired. If he showed up at the ramp with the same boat in the pic, it is likely all good. Take a photo of his license plate and boat registration, email to someone you trust just in case something goes down, and proceed to catch fish.

i see nothing creepy about that,,,i feel STEELLA. was a bit out of line and disrespectfull..honestly it sounds like a lonely retired old gentleman.thats willing to put up his boat/time just to get some1 to go fishing with him..its not like he wanted a 13yr old boy to go fishing with him..if he was in miami and got to know him,,id go fishing with him..i know a few retired old guys that go fishing alone & i always wished they had a younger buddy to go with them for safety & companionship..

I have done this before. Not boating or fishing, but a snowmobile trip to Togwotee (some of the best mountain riding anywhere). Some guys posted that they were going and had a couple open spots on the trailer. I had never met them they had never me. Turned out to be a great trip. Nothing creepy about it.

It's not creepy unless you end up in a well putting the lotion on your skin

Shoot I would love to have extra people to spearfish with in marathon on the days my wife can't drive me or my boys aren't down there. Better than sitting on dock

Well, if there are any "creepy" guys with boats in Mobile looking for a fishing partner, I will be down there first week of September...

On a local forum here in MD (Tidalfish) some ask for a HO or to HO with someone.
It means, Hands On or Helping Out.
Some guys troll a LOT of rods for stripers, depending on the season.
Driving the boat and setting the spread is not easy to do with one person.
When the bite is on and or the waters are crowded it can be chaos.

Just for safety sake it is a good idea to take someone.

He can't be all that bad, he's got a Regulator and Regulator doesn't sell boats to creepies.

At what other time would you fish for stripers, the middle of the afternoon?

Nothing creepy about it.

Not that creepy...the local boards here on THT have requests for fishing partners all the time...can't blame a guy for not wanting to go into the ocean alone...
