Wasn't there a thread recently, something like "When a thread goes wrong" or not as expected?

Is it any different, really, than what goes on here? I've met some really great people from here. Says a lot about someone willing to take a total stranger fishing. Tokinred, vc, deckape, Jimmy Lauderdale - awesome stand up guys. BlueRudy ain't half bad himself, though I've known him over 20 yrs, lol.

Never would've met any of them if they hadn't responded to threads I here.

People meet their spouses through online dating. Just saying.

Nothing creepy at all.

When I lived down on the Chesapeake I used tidal fish.com a lot. You would see threads all the time "looking to HO" or "looking for someone to HO" that would really creep you out then! What it means is looking for a "hop on" .... Lots of guys like me fish during the week and tough to find others that have that availability. Have made a lot of good friends that way.

If the OP thinks that a guy looking for a fishing buddy is creepy, you gotta wonder where his mind is at...

Not creepy at all. Posted a pic of a well respected boat just to say "not creepy, just need a fishing buddy".

I'd fish with him.

There is nothing even remotely, " Creepy," about that ad. It is an older guy who doesn't want to be on the water alone. What is unsaid, is that he's probably worried that if anything happened to him, well, you know, who'd call the ambulance?

If I was older, I'd sure as hell want to get someone younger who wants to go fishing, has the energy to do the work, but doesn't have the money. I'll pay for the boat, gas, and bait. He cleans the fish and the boat, and tends the lines all day. We'll split the meat. Win-win.

Doesn't seem creepy to me. In fact it seems quite reasonable, just an old dude who wants to not fish alone.

Besides, this is craigslist we're talking about. There is some wack shit on craigslist, and on the craigslist scale of creepiness with zero being innocuous, and ten making you run to grab the nearest kitchen knife, this rates at about a .5.

The jo on rails listing rates at about an eight on the craigslist scale of creepiness.

I honestly don't think it's creepy. Just funny. Wanted to stimulate convo on the subject. That boat should be getting his leg humped.

But no neighbors? Friends? dog? Lol
