Default Electrical problems: Need help

My boat will not start or even turn over. When I turn the key...nothing. I was at the boat ramp when this happened and the lights and graph worked fine. I replaced the battery bc it was reading low on cold cranking amps but still nothing happens when I turn the key. The manual engine trim on the engine works fine but not the trim on the throttle. Is this most likely a starter problem or something with the wires leading to the ignition?

Thank you

i would stick a different battery right to the starter. if it starts, start working backwards. if it dont them maybe a starter is bad

Easy stuff first. Kill switch, throttle in neutral? Loose wire at ignition. Something like that I bet if it just started happening.

Follow stickbo. IF it isn't one of those, get a 12 volt meter, and start at the battery, Check grounds. have someone turn the key, and follow the wires to starter.

From what you describe I would also suspect the main fuse to your helm.

Does anyone know of any place I can go for tips or trick for boat electrical issues? Looking for a website or YouTube video channel or something like that. I am a novice so I need something that will guide me through these issues. For instance, I know what a ground is but I don't necessarily know how to "check" them and I know what a fuse is but have never replaced one.

Thanks

I'm not trying to be a dick, but it really sounds like you need to bring your boat to a dealer and let a professional handle this if it's not something simple like a pulled lanyard or your control box not in neutral. A lot of times, you can do more damage by not knowing what you are doing and cost yourself even more money in the long run. With that being said, good luck.
