Default Water volume issue for pumps

Hi,

I seem to be having a water volume issue lately, I have a 2005 Sea Hunt Triton 220 with factory arrangement of having a single thruhull feeding my livewell and washdown pumps. I have a rule 800 gph livewell pump with the auxillary water outlet connected to the washdown pump. I have always noticed how small the water inlets on the scoop/strainer are and lately the water flowing into my livewell seems to be full of tiny air bubbles and I only have a trickle of water from the washdown pump unless I turn the livewell pump off.

I have checked for leaks and found none.

I know I need to check the scoop on the bottom of the boat for trash blocking the ports, what is the best way to check them, backwash or with a piece of wire?

Could they be drilled out to allow more waterflow?

Even before the system never worked real well but seemed to be just enough for both to operate ok.

Do you have a strainer basket in the loop someplace?
Most will have on that you can remove for cleaning.
I have one on my raw water intake and another on the AC intake.

Have a strainer inline between the pick up and the washdown pump, cleaned it. Was not the problem
