the prior owner blew a hose and lost a head gasket on one motor...so being he had plenty of money,
he spent 54,000 on the engines...yes 54,000....long blocks from Cat both of them were done at same time
and new gen set

CAT 3126's are much preferred to 3208-435 hp motors. I would guess they bring a $30-40,000 premium.
It is pretty rare that 3208-435's survive 1,500 hours - hence the 300 hours since rebuilt on the OP's boat.

I don't know how a 3126 could be a preferred, and bring a better price. They have had a long history of problems and the C-7's are no better.
Mine on my previous boat were recalled, redone, then I repowered with 3126's(a deal cut with Cat due to too many problems with my old ones) and had a head go at 900 hours.

The problem is the 35' "Express" market has shifted towards faster center consoles that can be trailered. Years ago, I rode on a smaller Cabo and no offense it rode rough and was wet as hell.
