Default What is a "Johnsuki"?

Basically what the title says.. I've seen somebody post a boat for sale and it had a 225 Johnsuzki? I also saw somebody on here a while back post something about one. Is a Johnsuki like a Johnson and Suzuki mixed??

Suzuki produced 4s outboards for bombardier in their early years following acquisition of OMC.

A 225 johnzuki would be a Johnson 225 4 stroke, which is actually a rebranded DF225. The parts are interchangeable.

The Johnsons and Suzukis had electrical and control linkage differences due to each company's' proprietary wiring, ECU programming, and control cables, but otherwise they were very similar.

My 140 Johnzuki is 10 years old. Great motor. You can buy parts from either Johnson or Suzuki (I have done both).

Good luck!

The Suzirude midrange motors (40 & 70) had serious corrosion problems but I imagine they are all in the scrap yard by now. I had 2 neighbors with them. One just threw his 70 away when the water jacket corroded through to the combustion chamber. The other stayed in the OMC bankruptcy proceedings on his 40 until he had moved from #146 in the line of plaintiffs to single digits and in the end they made him whole, one little check at a time. His motor was corroded in the area where one of the sensors connected to the water jacket. He nursed that motor along with welding and Marine tex.
