Default Anyone have any experiences/reviews of Boat Export USA?

Hello All,
First post on the forum! However, I have dedicated many working hours to reading the sites various threads. My wife and I recently moved down to Tortola, BVI and are looking to get a boat. Unfortunately the local market is not flush with the type and quality of boat we are looking for within our price range. We are looking for something to hop around the islands on the weekend. Ideally 21'+, outboard, small cabin, around $25K (w/o shipping). There is a boat listed online with Boat Exports USA and appears to fit the bill on all accounts (link included below). However I had never heard of them until now and there does not seem to be a huge amount of reviews/comments about them online (1 on here). I have been in contact with a sales rep (Igors Tjutins) about the boat. Has anyone on here had any dealings with Boat Export USA or Igors? Want to make sure this is a legit company before committing too much more time or potentially money.

On a different note, I have also been in contact with AJ Bowden from Wye River who has been helpful. It does not seem though that they have as big of selection as Boat Export USA. Also a boat out of Miami seems like it would be an easier export than MD.

Thanks in advance for any advice and feel free to throw any and all recommendations/comments my way.

Cheers,

Phillip

Dear All

Please be aware of Boat Export USA
This is who they are, and all that references they post to anyone who asks for them...

Iwona, please stop screaming around and ask people to help you to get back your deposit.

We are not traditional brokerage and we charge $2,000 fee to help you to buy a boat for you and export it.

There is only 2 options that I already presented you, reminding again them:

1. Continue to find a boat till found and apply deposit paid to that boat or

2. We can refund you your deposit paid –$2,000 our boat export coordination fee which we charge to help you to source a boat in US.

I guarantee that if you ask one more person to ask for a full refund, I will cease communication and we can discuss this as only legal matter with your attorney, no other options!

That is an email from Igor, they will ask for deposit with will never be returned!

Hello All Boat Export USA customers all over the world!

I would like briefly to comment on that accusation we received from Iwona, UK.

We were hired by Iwona to source a boat in US and once found made an offer with customer paid 10% deposit, then she started to mess things up by going around us direct to the selling broker. She was simply trying to get a better deal and asked for a few "friends" including surveyor to call selling broker and asked to buy from them direct trying to eliminate Boat Export USA from the signed deal. Then selling broker once received so many friendly requests at the same time informed the seller of the boat (his customer) and he pulled a boat off the market as realized price may be too low as so many calls...

When we informed Iwona on the unethical behavior she requested her 10% deposit and as she was the reason for all that mess we asked her to continue sourcing US boat with us and use her deposit paid to that new boat.

Finally she spread those dirty rumor throughout the internet and this is where we all are now.

We offer her to continue despite to all that mess she made.

Some customers simply screw up the process then make pointless accusations.

Regardless to summarize: Boat Export USA to continue to make efforts to close the deal but if customer refuses there is not much we can do in situations like that!

Hello Phillip,

Would like to know how your experience and transaction turned out. I bought a boat from Igors and boat export USA, it was worse than Iwona states. She is not lying, I was BLED for more money. In the end, the boat I got was full of surprises including rubbish they wanted to through away. As agent, he did not care at all, to ensure that his customer got the best quality boat, or top of the nutch services or prices, as the website claims.Very poor customer service, very uncouth. When he was addressed with the issues we had, he sends emails with new transacactions so we could see he was still in business. We are in the caribbean so it is difficult to follow up on these things and he knows it. I do not recommend them.I know that he will see this post and respond. Please Phillip, let us know.

Yes, Jerry you bought a boat from the owner and not us, we facilitate a transaction for you, we also offered you to arrange a pre-purchase survey her and you rejected because did not want to pay extra $800 for it, now you are complaining to the boat quality you purchased as well as your poor business decisions made. You need to learn take responsibility to your poor planing and not to blame us as a business.

ATTENTION ALL!!

BOAT EXPORT USA IS A SCAM......PLEASE DO NOT BECOME ANOTHER VICTIM!!!

We were invoiced for 2 boats that Igors Tjutins later admitted were scams and the prices were too cheap to be real. He then offered us older boats that cost more money and admitted that other boats on his website were scams. When we started to feel uncomfortable and asked for our money back he told us he was charging us $2000 USD per boat. There is small print on his website that he thinks makes this a legal thing to do! When we insisted he refund the full amount he told us he would fight us in court using our money!!

So basically Igors Tjutins will invoice you for boats that do not exist. When he receives your money he will tell you they are not available - sold or a scam. He will try and get you to spend more money and when you ask for your money back he will hit you with his $2000 USD per boat charge. You will then be emailed a "release form" to sign to agree to do this which of course you will do because you want the rest of your money back. This is blackmail!! He will then make every excuse in the book as to why he couldn't transfer your money that day which went on for 10 days + until we threatened to go to the police. So he makes even more money on the interest on your money! We are still fighting to get our $4000 USD back and the matter is now with the police.

Spread the word about this business so that he cannot steal any more innocent boat buyers money!!!

Default Boat Export USA

MR. VAUGHN, THIS IS NOT A SCAM!!! PLEASE STOP SPREADING DIRTY RUMORS OF THE TRUSTFUL BOAT EXPORT BUSINESS!!!

Boat Export USA is not a traditional boat brokerage and we work for a fee to find a boat in US and export door to port and sometimes to door worldwide. Most of the boats in our website are posted/displayed for sale by owners, we don't have control on what people post. Mr. Vaughn has been billed for the boats were available at the time and we were waiting for his wire transfer for more than 3 weeks without him paying the deposit (refused to provide hold deposit). At the time his money were posted our account boats were sold by the owners as everyone know people don't want to hold a boat for a few weeks without having the deposit paid, we offered to find him another boats for a few weeks before he asked for a refund. We worked on his file for more than a month and we charge fees for sourcing boats in US. He signed a claim release form and Mr. Vaughn at first provided wrong bank information, finally after a week of sending us a controversial bank info we were able to refund him, we don't make any interest on customers deposits. This is another example of unreasonable expectations as Invoice has a blue print on the bottom on the boat export coordination fee we charge in case we are hired to source a boat for the customer in US, provide shipping quotes for each and every boat, discuss customs clearance options, etc. Hello, please remove Mr. Vaughn comments as it violates the policy of your forum, no one can insult people personally by calling "mongrel" as this is the definition of the word "mongrel" a dog of no definable type or breed. I am sure The Truth Hull has a strict standards of reviews and I am strongly request this insult to be deleted asap...

Default Do your homework on boat export usa before you are scammed too

Anyone who is considering using Boat Export USA would be very wise to read this whole thread to see the experience others have had and be warned! Igors Tjutins is a con man. The whole concept of what he does is a scam.

We negotiated prices on two boats with him (which implied he was in contact with the owners to do so). Once prices were agreed we received an invoice. The boats were removed from Boat Export USA website which you would expect once they had been sold to us. The invoice we received stated "$2,000 Buyer's Boat Export Coordination Service - Included" which implies this is a free service.

Once Igors received our money he emailed to tell us that one boat was sold and the other was probably a scam. He later admitted that both boats were probably a scam as a 2009 Sea Ray would not be that cheap. Shame he didn't share that bit of his expertise with us before we sent him the money. But then why would he! Once he had our money he could then try and sell us older, more expensive boats. When we started to feel uneasy about the transaction and asked for our money back we were slammed with his $2,000 per boat fee. He then blackmailed us into signing a release form agreeing to this ludicrous fee in order to get the balance of our NZ $50k back! We sent the bank details of our money broker which Igors seemed to find extremely difficult to understand and it took him more than 10 days to use these bank details to finally pay us back our money - less his $4100 fee of course!

Igors Tjutins is THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL person I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. He will not talk on the phone and infact he put the phone down on me when I rang to discuss our refund....after telling me he would use our money to fight us in court! Here is an example of the sort of email we had from him "Listen, crazy nut, if you continue with this bull s**t I will report you to FBI, you are mother f*****g idiot!!! We got the full unedited version!!

Do yourselves a favour and find a legitimate company to import your boat with. This guy will be taken down soon....the police are on to him :-)

"(refused to provide hold deposit)" .....just noticed this out and out lie in your reply Igors. A deposit was never at any time even discussed! You invoiced us for the full amount and at no time indicated that a deposit was required to hold the boats for us.

As I have said......don't use this company or you too will be on here posting the review of your bad experience with Boat Export USA and Igors Tjutins like the rest of us!

Default Boat export usa is a scam I was Oslo a victim.

I had a very similar experience than mr Vam2000 i sow a boat at an incredible price and after I transferred the money Igors told me that the boat is scam. But because he doesn't wanted to give me my money back I had to find on other bout. Obviously not even similar to the first one. And a second boat to reduce the transportation cost.
Finally after I paid every ting as he told me to, with all the additional costs that he invented like cleaning grand transportation extra expensive and much more that is hard to explain for me in English. He told me that one of the boat that he was suppose to be checked by him (that is what I'm paying him for to check it) is almost under water so I had to pay extra 10000 (ten Townsend)dollars to rescue it and fix it.
He charged mor than 4000 dollars for sea transportation to Chile , and wen I asked the company how much he really paid for transportation they told me it was 1500 or 1300.
When Igors got you he will terai to get as much money as he can from you and he doesn't care if the boat is in good or bad conditions.
I spoke with the previous owner of one of the boats I bought and he told me that Igors never went to see the boat before I bought. What he do is to pay the owner $100 dollars to send him pictures and a video of the boat and that is what he send to you. Then he send some transportation company to bring the boat and he charged dabble price. Then he invent mechanical problems and charged more then he charged for thinks he doesn't do like cleaning take off the fluids etc. etc.
What I believe is that Boat export USA is a one person company all the boats that he have in the website are the same of craigslist but 2000 dollars more expensive and he is waiting at the terrace of his apartment waiting for someone to cheat.
I have all the emails and the finally invoice that proves all what I'm saying and I'm ready to testify if it can help to stop this kind of people to cheat persons that believe that it is safe to buy in USA.
I'm sorry for my bad English but it is not my language I live in Chile and still repairing the boats I bought from boat export USA for more money than I could buy here.
Very very bad experience now I m preparing a demand I hope it will be successful.

Brokers and scam artists are for the most part synonymous at least that is my history. Based on this thread I rest my case!
