Talked to Wylie last week and they are working with the 26. Doing a front deck like the 24 carbon, tweaking the layout of the stern, and room for a head.

I know they have built and sold quite a few. Local guide has one with G2s and says good things about it

Asking for purely personal reasons, what about the Shearwater Carolina? I'm thinking about one with the twin 200 Yamis.

Of course he's going to say "good things" about his new boat when they sell you it for 50% off retail.

Very nice boat. Go check them out at the factory. They would also meet the ops criteria

Not every guide gets a discount, and a 50% discount? Have you ever done pro staff or guide programs? 50% is a massive amount, and would have to be a big player in the game. That's if he is even on yellowfin pro staff

I think a good layout would be the single merc 350, twin 10ft pp, trolling motor, no Ttop but a center cc bar with radar, second in deck 35 gallon well, removable Bimini, flat front deck

Great boat, great fuel economy. I would buy the YF in a heartbeat. Great island boat for sandbar trips with the family and also a great boat for a quick 40 mile run offshore on a nice day.

I have been looking at these for quite some time. I ran one this week with a half tower and a verado 350. It was a great ride in bad conditions in the GOM. The Shearwater also floats skinny (relative to it's size). It is a much more affordable option than the other boats listed and they will custom make it to whatever you want. It's a great fishing platform but also has great seating & comfort for family outings. I also recently ran the SeaVee 270Z with a 350 verado. The SeaVee is also an amazing boat but is priced up there with the Barker & YF.

I fish tampa bay and near shore a lot. I think the 26 yf is the perfect boat for the area. The shallow water can whip into a chop very easily and fishing inside a boat is very important. When fishing the pass for tarpon you can easily do if from tha bow without feeling edgy fighting a fish. And the fold down seats in the stern are good if you want to stand up there and pitch to the mangroves for redfish or snook. Wish I could own one!
