Default SeaVee 390 Helm Seat

Was wondering how many have built the boat with the rear facing seat/cooler on the 390. Or prefer the slide out cooler. I understand the benefits of the slide out and access to the rigging area. If you have the built in seat I was curious if you are pleased with it or regrets?

We had a 2011 39 with the slide out seat and we built a new 2015 39 Z with rear facing seat and we like it much better than the sliding seat. You can remove the backrest pad when fishing to access the drawers.

that bottom pic shows the main disadvantage to the sliding cooler. When deployed, it's block access to all 3 of those hatches

I think the picture I posted was from a smaller boat...if not mistaken the 39 cooler will not interfere with a hatch. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct. The second picture above appears to be a 340. My 390Z has the pull out cooler for no other reason than we bottom fish a lot and enjoy the extra space. There is a lot of room in the back of a 390 either way though. I had a 340 and the cooler does get in the way of the hatches. Not that big of a deal though.

I have the 390Z with slide out cooler and there is plenty of room still and you can access all of the hatches. I had seavee do a door in each side of the leaning post to provide that extra storage space when cooler is pulled out, which is almost 100% of the time for me.
